Got mine today. In fact, it is even more beautiful live than in the photos, as the dial with its color gradient and sunburst effect is difficult to capture on camera. The look changes greatly depending on the lighting conditions. The dial is generally a little darker than that of the gen, and perhaps also a little less striking. I actually like it better this way than the gen.
I will try out the milanaise / mesh band and the rubber strap in the next few days.

Can I ask if the VSF Ultra deep time-setting is the same as the gen? One of the positions allow you to set the hour hand independently? Trusty's video only show the minute hand adjustment. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

I still can’t decide what to do. I absolutely love the colour way, but having seen the gen (a friend wears it daily) I can’t help but notice the rep just doesn’t sparkle as much. But then, I’m reminded of 95% of the watch for 5% of the price…

Do I wait for V2?!

There won't be a v2. I would love to bite my words but VSF hasn't bothered to fix it's stubby crown guards and/or soft crown tube in literally 4-5 years. They're not gonna bother with v2. The only hope you have is if another factory decides to make it.

There's V2 for SMP's and V4 for NTTD. Lets not lose hope, i really, really want AT and worldtimer, but just cant stomach the Poseidon.

Thanks @Reaps, this helps a lot. This is what I was thinking deep down, and the reason I went ZF for my normal blue.

Hearing so many rumours that ZF may stop making Seamasters soon, so maybe I just need to bite the bullet and be done with it and just get the VSF. It’s a fun hobby after all, not to be taken too seriously

I just received mine from Trusty (although he failed to include the blue rubber strap.. bummer...) but the watch is fantastic.

I have the first iteration of the 300m from VSF (silver dial) and this feels totally different.. the weight, the bracelet, the details of the dial, bezel insert and crystal. VSF really stepped up their game, very happy I took the plunge with this one

They will never match the gen, no matter how many versions they gonna make. And some people prefer the more discreet look of the rep.
But hey, yes, i would also take the gen, if money was no issue.

Ironically, in some instances I prefer the reps being less "blingy" against the gen version, when I´ve had the opportunity to see them in person... call me crazy, but too me that blingy look is "too much" and screams "look at my wrist" way more than I´m comfortable with.

Thanks for the review @leo6929, how do you find the crown guards vs the silver VSF, they do seem somewhat bigger (though still not as big as ZF)?

Also, I noticed that on Trusty’s website it shows the rubber strap in the photos with the watch, but it doesn’t actually mention it’s included in the description. Have you reached out to them to confirm either way?
