I actually love the deviation from gen on the XF SD43 sels. The recessed end links 116610 style look so much better than gen IMO. Looks more refined than the almost flush level of gen. But if you need to have it exactly like gen I get it. I don't mind deviations if they make the watch look better.

Edit: Funny, though, now I've gotten used to life without a cyclops, it's hard to go back. And removing it from the SD43 isn't an option, as the date sits too far to the left and, IMO, it just looks weird if the cyclops is removed.

Do not do that, you’ll regret it. The date window looks far too left justified once the cyclops is removed on these, and makes the dial look really dumb. Seriously bro, you’ll hate it. Some dials can take that, I’ve removed many (like 6 or 7) and the SD43 dial spacing is not conducive to the cyclops removal.

True, but once you replaced that clone with an ETA, that movement is likely going to survive you. Those Chinese 3x35 clones are still built in some shed with mediocre QC, poor finishing, lower quality base materials and subpar tolerances compared to the real thing. No one would be crazy enough to claim it's anywhere near Rolex standards.

This is my suspicion as well. I had a VSF and loved it construction wise but wish it came with an ETA clone so I could throw a gen in and wear it forever.

If i wanted to buy a SD43 now i‘d be completely confused now after reading this thread!
I was thinking about the XF SD43 because i read a lot positive statements about it as OOTB Rep - can someone point out clearly what have been the main differences between the XF Mk2 and the VSF Version (before new update) while staying objective?

I may be wrong, but from what I can see, it's just the XF with a VS3235 movement, modified dial and hands. The main benefit being that you can easily swap in gen parts.

Another member put a VS3235 in the XF SD43 fairly recently, and I believe it was a straight swap from the A2824, which would explain the XF morphing into the VSF.

So if i get you right the XF and VSF are the same watch according to case/bezel/bracelet - it‘s just the clone movement now (and dial/hands)?

So it doesn‘t matter which one i order, unless i want to do a franken project?!
