VSF VS3135 Submariner Comparison Against the Gen

In my opinion, having the gen and VSF side by side, I would not replace the crystal with gen. It is so close. They even have managed to get the magnification and thickness of cyclops (, something that has always bothered me about reps) correct. AR is very close too.
I think in a blindfold mixup one would be hard pressed to distinguish the two.

I see that on the Noob, the one with crown screwed in. Very rough edges, not so on VSF.

I know it has been asked, but I haven't really seen a satisfactory answer, so here goes again:

They are very close however the VSF is brighter and the pearl is very close to gen.

Any comments on the handset on VSF) Do they look too thick compared to gen or arf/zzf? Do you think replacing them is a must?
Just received my QC pictures. Looks terrific, greenlit it and can't wait to receive it.
This is the first 116610 rep I've purchased. I held off until there was an out-of-the-box rep that was good enough to wear around until I get around to modding it. This watch is something else, and for the price? Man. Bargain.

Hands are probably the only thing that I see it could be better. Nothing is a must unless they really bother you. If not they are perfectly ok to keep. I would like to have some extra info on the bracelet. Some said it was a bit light.
However I can tell it is an incredible watch at a very fair price point. Also a wonderful base for modding, not that it is really required.

Yes they are too thick compared to Gen.
They seem have a nice curvature though.
Only you can decide if you must change it and it Depends on what you can live with or if you even see it. Judging by the fact you’ve asked this question it would seem you don’t see it, so don’t worry.
For me they look off, (Off from pics) it’s just one of the things I look at right away on reps. It catch my eye.
Don’t get me wrong, this is for sure one of the best all round reps we’ve had.
Mines stuck in the postal system so still waiting to see the hands IRL, they remind me of ZZFs first set of hands.

Couldn’t agree more.
Having the two side by side is a real eye opener...case, dial, insert ( I have another noob, v8 with original insert), hands, pearl, xtal, movement. Virtually Every aspect is so much better.

The edges of these hands are very nicely finished, not rough at all. Many rep hands sets look ‘punched out’ , to my eye, leaving the edges looking unfinished.
I just don’t see any reason to replace these, just my opinion though.
One other thing about this crystal, it has that ‘jewel-like’ shine and clarity of the gen. Something that jumps out more in natural light and especially when compared to gen and other reps.

It is nice to know but looking at pictures it doesn’t really seem as clear as the gen. Also looking at your own pics it seems to me that the gen crystal is clearer. For sure it is a step up over old rep crystals which were terrible anyway. For the price we can’t complain at all.
Thanks. Yeah, that's what he told me close to a month ago. I ordered the 116610 and arragned to hold off shipping till the 114060 was available, but ended up getting impatient and had it shipped.
