1) buy the tool I shared in the above post
2) buy 1mm Delrin tipped tweezers to handle the hands (less likely to scratch them)
3) gently set the hand in place on the pinion.
4) gently use the delrin tweezers to line it up perfectly
5) don’t touch it or hold it with putty.
6) use the hand press tool to set the hand

I have fairly steady hands and when I used pen tools in the past the hands would rotate/move slightly while I pressed them in place. This isn’t a huge deal on a submariner... but causes a problem on chronograph movements and GMT movements where accuracy is imperative. Hand Press for the win. Should help decrease blemish and increase accuracy. It’s not cheap, but after experiencing the increased precision it’s my new favorite tool.

I use watchmaker tweezers, like this :)

This is how I've learned to set the hands on the pinion.

But it's risky.
I think I'll buy a tool like that...

See my new QC it's not good for me.... i prefer reject it...

You are looking for perfection. You will not find perfection with a rep. You could reject another 9 watches and still find flaws. Even gens have slight imperfections. If you wanna enter the rep game, and this is me speaking on 6 months worth of experience, you gotta come with the mindset that you can't get a perfect watch. If you want something closer to perfection without paying full gen price, you're gonna have to franken your way in a little bit man. Hope this makes sense.

I would give you your money back and ban you from shopping with me if I were a TD.

I might not give you your money back actually.

Sorry ?!

I ordered 2x VSF one is maybe good and the other not... for my eyes... so why this remark ?

I just wanted to share, I'm not looking for perfection, I have a few replicas and I found them better in some aspects, or my eyes are blinking ... I don't want to create a controversy, next time I'll keep this to myself ...

Exactly my friend, in this forum RWI always defends itself more to TD or Factory (even if the product is bad) than to the client himself. At first there is a lot of talk about mistakes ... but then everything is valid. Factories have QC? Do the TDs have their own QC? The answer is no !!! So if we have to do it ourselves, why accept something that is not right? I have received rep many times with movement problems, and I have had to solve it myself, because this is like a lottery. Now look at the number of partners or people close to the factories and TDs who are going to tell me about anything but beautiful ...

You say youre not looking for perfection, so list the things youre okay with being wrong on a rep.

This is the best angle to show the hands on the VSF

As for the improvement to the movement all I can say is wow!!
Dial up +2spd
Dial down +1spd
Crown down -2spd
Crown up +3spd
Crown right -1spd
Crown left 0spd

On the wrist over 5 days plus 1.4 seconds...
Good to see of others have this result... winding is butter smooth, amplitude is 320 fully wound and 313 after wearing for 5 days .. so the auto winding is working correctly.. i haven’t opened the case back and am not going to unless it breaks!!!

That wasn't what i was trying to get out of you. I said all that without any malicious intent. The guys here can be pretty unforgiving, especially when it comes to newbies. But please don't go away thinking everyone is here to flamethrower you. If everyone were so afraid to speak up, the rep community wouldn't make any progress. All i'm saying is you gotta choose your battles. Sometimes keeping mum and just observe. Other times, speak up when it's necessary. I hope you find the sub you're looking for!

Crazy..

You really want to spend some time with a genuine Submariner.. look at how centred the date is.. lol .. that's right.. My genuine Rolex Submariner does not have a centred date or a centred crown @12 or a perfectly aligned cyclops..

Genuine watches are NOT as perfect as you might think..

My date is high in the window between 1 and 15.. and from 15 to 31 it is dead centre. When i took the watch back to my AD after a week of wear to point this out they told me it is within a tolerance. They could send it back to Rolex but it would take about 8 weeks.. given I had just bought it I didn't want to part with it for 2 months, so I just live with it.. it's within tolerance!
