Is this a QC question about a ZZF you've ordered? If so, there are rules about posting QC questions, and if you haven't read them, head over and take a look. You are only supposed to ask specific questions if there is something you've identified which you think is off. And if you've already accepted the watch, don't ask.

I am excited for this piece but each time still I get nervous that my qc won’t be good... I have a great TD that I’ve used every time but they are pretty strict on the Red light

I'm repeating things because you keep on saying the same thing without acknowledging the thread that I shared which is proof that what you are saying is bullshit.

First of all you're not the only one with a gen to compare to. I for one have a couple of gen Rolex too

Secondly, the question is not whether there is a difference between rep and gen but whether you can tell the difference between 316 and 904. Folks did not imagine a difference because they believed the factories. Folks saw a real difference because there was one, except that it could not have been due to the metal because - that's the twist - it was 316L on both sides. So if it's not the metal then what can it be? It's the brushing

This is basic logic and if you don't understand that there's just no way we can have a conversation. In any case you can buy whatever you want that's up to you. But don't go around spreading misinformation to confuse others even more
Ur so delusional its hilarious. Listen, the fact is simple... 904l is whiter than 316l. That's it!
Now move along!

sfbatman787 These people just dont get it. Gen is 904 and they still have the audacity to argue that 316 is better. How are you going to say a fake material is better than the original?!!!

It really baffles me. People in ZZF are in a cult. I mention how ZF is the best ootb rep right now because angus a TD has handled it and has seen it live and has even tested the materials and they all freak out.

As is abundantly clear in this post...

I'm done, you don't want to hear anything, no point wasting my time

I can't feel the difference between 904 n 316 visually or feeling wise. It depends on the factory quality n finishing.
Here's Rolex genuine 904L with 316L. I can't see or feel any difference, do any of you guys here can see?

Reps have come a long way to the real deal and we should enjoy this hobby... cheers!!!

Because completely separate from the zzf V2s situation, 316L is factually, physically, arguably a better steel for watches. The only upside of 904L is the fact that rolex uses it (which is completely marketing and false exclusivity) and that it's better for corrosion... but look at vintage watches that all used 316L steel, do they all have corrosion issues? NO, so the only upside of 904L is that it's a false exclusivity marketing tactic. lol

904L is obviously 'better' for rep accuracy to Rolex, but Rolex is using technically inferior steel just as a marketing tactic.

Oh no you again? Wtf are you talking about???who said anything about 316 being better than 904??? The question is whether it LOOKS different. Do you even know the difference between these 2? The only benefit of 904L is that it resists better to corrosion, which is a very limited benefit in the life of a watch. FYI 316L is surgical grade steel. It is used by AP and Patek Philippe in their steel watches.

nobody is defending ZZF or any other watch maker. The shit show that were seeing here because watches advertised as 904L are not is bad. But it just highlights that people can't tell the difference.

The only fanboy here is you, telling everyone how the ZF watch that you haven't even seen in real life is the best with your dozen of useless messages. This is painful.

You are right and not arguing which steel is better. All I'm saying is, and will stand behind it bcz I judge things based on my personal experience and not online photo comparisons, that 904l steel when compared side by side with 316l has a whiter sheen. How they feel and taste to Tobel all depends on machining of parts and the refinishing of them. So just bcz something is 904l doesn't make it better or vice versa.

What really baffles everyone is you showing up 10x a day saying ZF is the best because Angus said so. You’re not helping Angus, you’re embarrassing him. If you’re a ZF employee, you’re not driving up sales with you’re inane drivel, you’re driving them down.

You are the worst troll I have ever seen around here.

People are getting too caught up with this 904L issue. Yeah we know it’s not a shit load different from 316L and Yeah Rolex use it and it’s a turned into a marketing strategy, but in the beginning and in reality it’s not. 904L is used a lot in many industries it’s nothing special.

the main and real reason Rolex chose to use 904L was because a lot of watches coming back for service after some time suffered from pitting right at the point loading area of the case back gasket for screw down casebacks. When this happens Rolex can’t guarantee extended waterproofing periods therefore flooring their whole ‘dive watch’ persona. 904L was supposed to be more resistant from chlorides in human sweat which is the main cause of pitting not the salt water from the ocean, although it’s also a cause. It’s recorded by Rolex that their ‘non dive’ dress watches that had never seen salt water and only been worn on special occasions without regular care or cleaning still had extensive pitting.

There’s other stainless steels that are brighter, harder and more resistant than 904L but they aren’t easy to work with so 904L from a manufacturing, cost and attempt to reduce case wear was the most economical option for Rolex.

Mind you that’s happens after 15years so I’m sure your zzfv3, zf, noob or whatever case you have will be replaced in the coming years with noob v25, zzfv15 or whatever versions more accurate at that stage so I’m sure case pitting may not be a factor to some here lol

the color of the steel is not always due to being 316 or 904, I have in 316 steel Noob GMT II, Noob v7, Noob v5, Noob V8, they all have a slightly different color, some looks more yellow, others darker, the GMT II (316) has almost the same color as my ARF Dj41 AND 114300 (904). What I mean is that even within 316 there can be color differences, and the same happens with 904. So let's stop giving 904 so much importance, although if they are not selling us 100% 904 they should lower that price difference.

Totally agree with the price point. Definitely seen some different coloured stainless with reps over the last ten years. Methods of Finishing can also be a factor but most stainless looks identical when mirror finished anyway lol

Bro, the TDs are sellers, they have to say that the product is good, otherwise they won't sell it.

Especially if the product is the most expensive sub replica available at the moment.

You need some level of critical eye, for real.

mate no one is saying 316L is better..its just being discussed that visually one can't differentiate or feel the difference. You can see the pictures I posted of Rolex 904L indistinguishable from 316L.
The color n finish you see depends much on the quality/build and polishing of the steel.....cheers!!!
