Sorry for bombarding but has anyone researched whether the vsf uses 904l steel

My vsf ln died 2 nights ago, hadn’t used it in a week, winded it, it was fine for an hour then it just stopped ticking. Winding makes a coarser noise now. Anyone else with the same issue?

Over winding makes it feel coarse. If it stopped, give it a whack with your hand in the palm of your other hand. Then try shaking it to see if the balance starts again.

Mine hasn’t stopped but when you pull the crown out to the time setting position it feels and sounds very rough.

The other day when I was setting the time the date wheel started rotating backwards even though the hands were nowhere near 12.

I’m no expert but my guess is the pubic hairs are interfering with some of the mechanisms.

It does still wind very smooth and is going to one day become a very good looking paperweight.

I had the same issue with the winding arm. I looked it over for an hour, trying different solutions. Definitely don’t want a thick grease under the smaller gear. But...a drop of moebius between then little gear and press bushing solved the problem 100%. Use a red tip oiler and wick it in. She’s working flawlessly now.
