The AR on thr VSF i have is on the outside of the crystal and im 100% sure on that as i polished it off this morning because of the scratches on the AR and it came from the factory like this.

My VSF, there is AR on the outside too. Got scratched when it hit wall tiles and had to polish it off with cape cod. I wonder is the gen coated with AR on the outside too?

All gen Panerai only have AR applied to the inside of the crystal. I have not heard of any AR coming off on the crystal on the outside.

Gen pams are single AR but the quality of sapphire is obviously a lot better than the reps so the crystal looks clearer. I can understand why vsf would double AR as at a glance it looks more like the gen crystal

Thanks. It does not seem like a bad thing to take off the outside AR making it closer to gen specifications.

Is the update for the 438 in the pipeline?
Always wanted to get one but held back because of the inaccurate GMT function.
