To all these pricing discussions, I will say, the market will dictate the price. If the cost of the first 80 pieces is so high that it's not as quick to move as they had hoped, the factory might reconsider. But we have no way of knowing how well or how poor the first batch did, only the dealers would have that info.

Anyway, here's hoping that the next model VSF makes will be more reasonable in pricing or at least following that trend. They can certainly recoup their investment if they look at it from a long term perspective.

Rattapante built on top of Asian 7750? Wow. The movement itself is crappy enough to die on running simple chrono, not to mention reset issues with poorly made hands etc. why would anyone be compelled to spend $700 on that rocking (or not) bomb is beyond me.

People pay that sort of money and more on a TC , what's to say what you're getting for you money isn't substantially better in this watch?

We'll see what the movement is like , and from what I can see , compared to say a h-fac version seems they've fixed a few flaws the dial had( font thickness ) , and the s/shape reflection the bezel gives off, the lever looks more accurate too.

I dunno , just showing off the rattrapante function is enough if it proves to be reliable

I'll definitely post a review ;)

Arghh about to pull the trigger on the Pam 253 by H Fac then I see this. The price is high but I think justified if the rattrapante function is reliable. Can't wait to see some review before making my decision.

You can never go wrong with a working complication. I frankly would never buy a rattrapante rep because it doesn't actually execute the function that is printed on the dial, that is until now....

I think it is an incredible advancement and well worth rhe extra $300.

me too...

I wonder what happens if you reset the chrono, the 2nd stop second still "active" ...

Agree but I just wonder how reliable it really is. Even for a gen, most chronos are not exactly that reliable.

Existing solutions utilise column wheel or lever-and-cam systems like the one designed by Richard Habring (which was built at cost of having automatic winding module removed). Genuine PAM 213 uses column wheel as they got it from Soprod. Solutions possible without visible column wheel and yet still having autowind module - all are having split seconds button at 10. In our example the button is on 8 o’clock...

Then I found it: the genuine was Eberhard & Co. Extra-Fort Rattrapante! To be exact - their Eberhard Caliber 8601 movement, based on 7750 of course.

Btw this rep PAM 213 is on its way to me :)

I´d not "risk" 688$ without knowing more about how reliable that movement/modification is.
Let's wait and see if chinese rattrapantes last a dozen of clicks. :popcorn2:
