VS drops 40mm Rolex Explorer w/ VS3230

I feel the same way. Like Karbon74, I really don't like it as much as the 39mm...but I know eventually I'm going to wind up with one, lol, just to round out the collection. Maybe when one pops up used M2M at a bargain price...

Only 1 thing wrong on this release...

The Crown is smaller than it should be. (It should be similar to the crown on the explorer II's.

Otherwise it looks great!

I'll update with pictures when it's here ... I'm hoping it can accept a Gen spec crown. I have a spare from a C+F explorer II and another from a GMF explorer II

1. Lug width isn't 21mm, it's 20mm
2. Crown is smaller than it should be. (It should be similar to the crown on the explorer II's.

Otherwise it looks great!

Crown was one of the issues with the Clean 39mm as well. Odd how that happens.

It's not a fair comparison, because they're reps of 2 different models. Clean does the 39mm, VSF is doing the 40mm. From what's been mentioned in this thread, neither one gets the crown right, but mostly opinions seem to be very favorable.

yes of course, but talking about a 39 and a 40 it was nice to understand which of the two was worth it

I think you're thinking of the 36mm, which most reps had with 20mm lugs, although Clean got it right with proper 19mm lugs. Not sure on the clasp, however, but I don't remember any complaints, other than the Steel Inox lettering.

Yes, that’s my fault! I mean the 36mm. I’ve read that VSF version has 20mm lugs and 18mm clasp. But gen, or clean, have 19mm lugs and maybe also 16mm clasp as gen has. Was just curiosity

VSF has made a 124270. Spoiler warning it's pretty piss poor. They took their OP case and put a Explorer dial and called it a day. Wrong case shape, lug width, taper, and it costs more than Clean. LOL
