Tudor Heritage Ranger Gen VS Rep

I got OCD for wrong crown height - it's my easiest way of seeing if a watch is rep (e.g. those 2836-2 noob v7 with wrong crown height that is relative to crownguard). This is because there are no crown height variation in production run (whereas other flaws like dial typography flaws and crooked indices may be excused as poor QC like gen factories at times, but gen crown height is inexcusable as cases are made to factory/movement specs at all times - no exception)

So this is unfortunately a deal breaker for me.

Can you point out the crown height difference? I still can't see it.

The difference is very clear to me
It may look like a small problem to you but to me (subjectively), the guiding lines of the bezel's bottom makes it very noticeable that the crown height is wrong (to me at least because that is how I spot rep rolex with 2836-2 or 21j movements - including ALL cartel vintage Rolex)
But with this rep, I don't know how could the factory mess up the crown height when both watches (the gen and rep) uses 2824-2 movements (tudor of that generation used ETA 2824-2 ebauche while the rep uses A2824-2)

Are we sure the crown height is an issue? Looks like the rep is angled.

I hope so too
Maybe someone with the rep can take pics to confirm. It doesn't make sense to screw up the crown height when both watches use 2824-2
The other pic here looks like this:

Ah yes VERY clear. I will make sure when I see someone wearing one I grab their wrist grab my lope and micrometer and measure to see if the crown teeth extend that .0000000012mm farther so I can call them out.

hence i said it is 'subjective', but I have developed an OCD way of spotting rep subs with 2836-2 when close-up (bear in mind from where I am, Hong Kong is a very packed place, so I am used to seeing a lot of Subs close-up publicly)

You've got a keen eye. Thanks.

I think that's why the Rolex Explorer with the wrong font spacing is still a contender with me; I have this feeling they'll fix the spacing but then something else will be off. It's not a perfect analogy, but it's a little like cell phones. A lot of people feel like they always have to get the next generation, even if the new one is just tweaked a bit without a significant jump in technology. Watches the same. The factory will improve it slightly, but maybe take a slight step back somewhere else or leave something unimproved that will be reserved for the next generation, ensuring that people who have an earlier generation will still want the follow-up. Too cynical?
Don't forget you'll have to service the jf explorer. Get the explorer now and then just change the dial when they update it
