exactly this.

If I had not been aware of high end reps, I would have been very happy with the Tissot.
That said, San Martin make really awesome stuff...but not many dressier style and none as full gold plated including bracelet.

Where Tissot borrow their inspiration from

Or maybe Rolex got inspiration from tissot in the 70s?

Thank you very much! Do you have any recommendations for steel bracelets, jubilee type or otherwise?

You would think that is a possibility but its not. Gerald Genta basically modernized modern watch design in 1970 for AP Royal oak and onwards to Patek Nautilus I 1971. It’s never confirmed that Rolex hired Genta for the 1972/3 OP 1530 but its not unlikely. Genta later designed Rolex Cellini line.

Tissot design their in 1976-ish a bit late in the game.

Tissot PRX "Gérald Genta Design".

I think I’m gonna buy a rep PRX. Can’t bring myself to spend the money on a gen when that money can buy me a modded Daytona lol

I have a 35mm quartz PRX and find it looks better size-wise on my 6.5" than the 39mm AP RO I used to own.

Recommend 35mm all day err day. Small watches are the way

Agreed! I tried the 35mm PRX (auto) and it felt so great on my 6.5” wrist. I just don’t love the quartz dial but I can’t justify the auto price.

My opinion on the PRX gold 35mm Powermatic 80 is this:
If you are looking for a gold tone watch you can wear everyday and you don't mind the cheap feeling of the bracelet, go for it.
The watch actually looks really, really good. I have 0 experience in AP reps, so to my untrained eye the waffle dial does not look that bad.
My reason behind buying this instead of a gold DayDate 36 was this looks WAY more realistic for a younger guy to be wearing, also no explanation to be made other than "oh no, this is just a Tissot".
As much as I want to wear a 36mm Daydate every single day, with my profession it just makes no sense and would potentially be off-putting to certain customers if they knew or even paid attention to my watch. A gold DayDate is arguably the MOST iconic watch in existence, so even normal people that are not watch geeks have a high likelihood of recognizing it.

If any of that would not apply to you, I would probably say skip over this one and get you a nice Gold plated rep, if you're looking for some gold on your wrist!

@Karbon74 I know this is an old thread, but how are you liking that Brew Metric in gold? I'm thinking about ordering one here soon and potentially the "Retro dial" model as well

I really like it. Most of the surface inc bracelet is satin finish, with some polished areas
The case shape from top is superb, and the bracelet taper really nice

I like the side shape less and i would like it to be thinner but that’s a minor gripe

The watchhead finish is very good, the hidden areas of the bracelet less so, but every visible area looks great.

Because I got hit with import duties (bad luck) the price-value ratio was not that great but it is a watch I will keep

Mind you, the Max Gold edition I have was limited, they only do the gold and black dial now I think

Yea that is the only one they show now on their website. I'm honestly torn between buying a Microbrand, cheap gen (Bulova Super Seville), Sea-Gull, Sugess, or another rep LOL
