What was the issue on the vsf date wheel for you, do you also find it Thin as compared to Gen?
If I may ask, where and around how much costed you for the Gen DW upgrade? Thanks

As for the vsf bracelet, same as others here noticed the SEL could be sharper and more pronounced, many prefer the ARF/Clean bracelet if I'm not mistaken. Others pls correct if there are better options for the bracelet.
Aside from the DW and bracelet, i like everything on my VSF 126610.
I found the text too thin compared to gen. It costs me €200 for the gen DW plus labour to install which was part of a service and waterproof testing.

I do not see any issues with my SEL. See below. Is this not as sharp as gen?

I think just about other 126 bracelet will have better SEL's than the VSF one. A

No, that looks either fake or previously polished to me. Go look at gen (or CF) SEL's.

That’s a far cry from your previous post with no mention of the inferior vsf SEL;

I must be blind but I cannot see anything wrong with the SEL on my VSF compared to gen

We are discussing 126, you are pulling my quotes from a 116 thread, not even the same watch. The 126 SEL on VSF are rubbish, this is well covered, they are shallow and soft edged.

If you can't see the differeces between your watch and gen, power to you. Once your attention is drawn to flaws, the party of over and there is no going back.

So you would mod the VSF 126 into the CF case somehow to improve on the SELs?

No, I wouldn't do anything. I don't take it that seriously. If I was to do anything, I'd find a bracelet with better SEL's there are lots to choose from. Which one? I dont know I have not researched it. While they look good they may not feel good. The CF one looks good, its your luck if any other bracelt will fit properly with good recess.

Me, I'll wait until VSF improve it then I'll buy another and sell the crap one. I wear gen Rolex.

Excuse my ignorance, how can you tell if you have a 116 or a 126?

I have looked at gen picks and compared to mine and I cannot see any differences in the SEL’s. Not being able to see it is doing my head in.

Most obvious tell from the front is the width of the lugs. 116 have maxi case with broader lugs, 126 are thinner. From the back the clasp of the 126 is wider than on the 116

Can someone please post a photo of the 126 SEL against a gen, marked up with circles to pinpoint this difference?

Would an AD spot it if you walked in to a store?

There's details of this earlier in this thread with detailed pics I believe

BTW walking into an AD with a rep on your wrist is a bannable offense, just FYI

I did look for it through the thread, however the discussion was being had here so I thought I’d ask.

Walking in to an AD wearing a rep was a metaphor. As in, is the rep so good that someone who knows Rolex well would be able to tell it’s a rep.

Some great reading as always, few questions:

1. How do you know all the serial codes and what build they were ?
2. Are there legit VSF atm ?, or are most build from pre raid parts ?

so much info on here and r/Reptime its hard for me to keep track. Was looking to place an order for a VSF soon. Also, as I have a small wrist, a 40mm date sub would prob fit best, are these older parts / movement compared to the new 41mm ?

thanks in adv

After reading about the ‘inferior’ VSF SEL’s on my ‘126’ has now made me go from being absolutely in love with my franken 116610LN to loathing it, even though I cannot even see the problem with the SEL’s.

I think that knowing that others can see the issue with the SEL’s and on my watch makes me dislike it.

Anyone here got pics of a clean bracelet on a vsf 126610??

1LQ CF bracelet on VSF 126610, here are my two cents when compared to my experience with 3VV and 1LQ VSF bracelets.

CF SEL mid step is taller and sharper than VSF, significantly more genlike. CF SEL recess profile is also better than VSF, VSF SEL flattens out as you travel ‘up’ the lug (towards the watch away from lug tip).

But SEL fitment on the CF bracelet is inferior to VSF, mine has side to side play while my VSF does not. There is also more play between the SEL male and first link on the CF than the VSF bracelet.

Clasp is built and finished better on the CF. VSF glidelock is significantly smoother with less play. CF fliplock locking action feels more solid and genlike but the fliplock itself moves freely while the VSF fliplock doesn’t.

Just like everything in the repworld - pick your poison. I’m sure there’s plenty of variation from bracelet to bracelet so YMMV too. :)
