Starting to collect bits for a 16013, have secured a gen dial and hands

I’ve identified the case (yet to purchase) the case has a tube thread size of 2.5 x 0.25mm

I am planning on fitting a gold gen crown, question is do I need a specific tube for a gold crown or will a standard stainless one be ok? (I was planning on using an Athaya tube)

Thanks

16013 uses the stainless steel tube. Only the Day-Date model uses the gold tube.
However, the 16013 uses a different tube size/crown. The tube part number is 24-600, and the crown is 24-603-8.

The 16013 uses the 600-8 crown with a 24-6000 or 24-6010 tube per Rolex spec sheets. The 603 is used on the 162xx generation Datejust and uses a different tube (24-5530) with different internal and external thread diameters.

Hello, do you know if there is a good quality crown that could be fix directly into the raffles cases without needing to re-drill? thanks

I think some people use the Sillian/Vanbaol crown from Alibaba. Minimum order of 2 tho. I haven't ordered, but would like to know if other people used it.

GEN Dial
VS3135 Movement
Raffles 3135 Hands
Raffles Date Wheel
Raffles Case
25-135 Acrylic Crystal

I honestly don't know anything about vintage datejusts... How horrible is my build? What should I add/change to make it closer to gen?

Looks very good, those Raffles cases are getting better as time goes on.
They only thing I would upgrade is the bezel with an engine turned one (about 150€/$ on ebay) and the crown (I haven't done this but many people have).

Thanks! I have a GEN engine-turned bezel on order, and i'm keeping my eye out for a (cheap) GEN crown.

Hi all, this is a great thread! I've read a fair way through but seem to confuse myself.

I've got a gen 1601 linen dial, gen engined turned bezel with a vsf3135 movement in the post. Am I right in thinking the date wheel won't match the date position on the 1601 dial since it would have had a 1565/75 movement?

What should I do to get around this, get an open 9 overlay from raffles and stick it to the 3135 datewheel?

pie pan dial is going to give you problems with the 3135. What case is it going in? Might be better off going the ETA route

Ah, thanks.

So the pie pan adds too much depth to the movement in the case?

I was planning on using a raffles DJ case that takes a 3135 but maybe I’ll use it for a different watch. I’ve got an eta2824 going spare so could use that instead.

i think his 2824 cases are the newer version with thinner legs from reading this thread.

So I’ll get a date wheel overlay from Ken too. I was going to use a Sternkreuz crystal and athaya crown too.
