Did you loosen the dial screws on the movement?Starting my Datejust build.
Have a gen linen dial and a VS3135 that I got on AliX.
The dial is sitting oddly in the movement - definitely not flush, and won't go all the way in. The dial feet seem to have "caps" on them (for lack of a better word).
Any guidance? Just push it in with some force? Issue with the dial? Issue with the movement?
I did not. Assuming those are the four screws on the outer perimter?Did you loosen the dial screws on the movement?
Outer two. One is at near the 2/3 o’clock position and one is near the 7/8 o’clock position.I did not. Assuming those are the four screws on the outer perimter?
What model does it say that dial is?Is the open 6/9 accurate for that dial? Love that dial and got one myself but it feels like it was only used in the 162xx lineup.
It doesn’t have markings on the back. The rail track version is the one I’m referring to, which I never see on 16xxx modelsWhat model does it say that dial is?
You could try Sillan Watch Co on Alibaba. They're about $75 but I believe the company has a good rep and so these are genuine VS3135s. However it's a minimum order of 2 pieces. If you need one only, go AliExpress but based on Sillan's pricing anything sub $75 may well be a lower tier factory or some decorated rubbish.Right, but just the cheapest you can find or from a specific shop known for quality/reliability?
I have no idea to be honest. The dial is from firstclassdials on eBay and was listed as a 16233.Is the open 6/9 accurate for that dial? Love that dial and got one myself but it feels like it was only used in the 162xx lineup.
Gen dial with authentic patinaIs that the Raffles explorer 1016 case?
I saw your post and assumed you were talking about a 1016...and got super excited about the "Gen dial with authentic patina."Gen dial with authentic patina

I am working on a build using some of the same parts, but I'm running into an issue that it seems you have dealt with. I have a Raffles (2824) case and a VS3135. Even with the included gasket, the movement moves around quite a bit inside the case. Maybe that won't be an issue once I secure the movement using movement tabs, but...Since the case is a Raffle's Case, I put into it a thin crystal gasket that I got from Raffle and secured the movement with two custom movement tabs. And it sits tight inside the case.
Movement tabs come in different sizes, intending to be matched to the case/movement combo, but carefully filing (and being careful to clean up any metal shavings so they don't find their way into the movement) the tabs is a perfectly fine way to fit a movement to a case.I am working on a build using some of the same parts, but I'm running into an issue that it seems you have dealt with. The movement tabs that Raffles included appear to be too long and I can't get them to fit. Did you just file down the tabs until they fit?
Thanks. I was able to file them down and get them to fit. Moved on to installing the winding stem to notice it doesn’t wind now. It locks in and spins but does nothing - no winding of the movement, date change, or time change.Movement tabs come in different sizes, intending to be matched to the case/movement combo, but carefully filing (and being careful to clean up any metal shavings so they don't find their way into the movement) the tabs is a perfectly fine way to fit a movement to a case.
See if this helps or send to someone to check on this for you. It may be the keyless works.Thanks. I was able to file them down and get them to fit. I suspect the way I removed the stem may have been incorrect, but I had a hard time finding a consensus on how it should be done. I removed it from the winding position. Hopefully someone can chime in and help me save this movement.
