I had to take what a lot of these guys said and grind it down for the rotor to spin. I ordered this and used a drill. I bought some for my Dremel, but as they got hot, they would melt the Velcro.
These worked for me.

Yes let me do that

The pics are not high res, so I cannot really see the gap.

Can you remove totally the movement, and then screw the crown in?
I found that on the 1016 case the 604 crown works perfect with raffles tube.
I will send pics
Also the 16200 seemed to work perfect with both 603 and 604 gen crown and raffles tube.

Still need to send pics with the 24-5330 tube in 1016 case doesn’t sit flush w case.

my 16030 franken with
gen dial
gen case
gen crystal
gen crown and tube
gen bracelet

Man that is so beautiful! I hope you always have a lot of time with it!
A question: the dial look like a 4 digit - like a 1603. Or am I wrong? By the way, I am a big fan of the 4 digit dials and still have it on my to-do list.

thank you!
to be honest, i cant remember if its a 1603 dial or a 16030 dial. Both look very similar (at least to me) . i researched it back then when i build it and aquired the dial and came to the conclusion it wa a 16030 but i could also have been wrong, that was around 2009!

I thought the 1600 series were all "Pie Pan" dials, and the later ones were flat.

I could be wrong.

Hi all.

I am building a frankenjust which has proved to be the bane of my existence for the past 5 months and require some help from experienced modders.

I currently have

- ETA2836 16200 DATEJUST case from raffles (https://shorturl.at/PgX14)
- Longer post hands from Raffles dials (https://shorturl.at/Js6fH)
- Genuine Blue 162xx service dial (https://imgur.com/6atWN00)
- ETA 2836
- Gen engine turned bezel (I suspect this is a 162xx bezel, as it takes raffles crystal but not a 25-135)

I'm so close to finishing but unfortunately the long post hands too big and do not clear the case (They touch the crystal). The minute and seconds hand on the regular hands also get caught on the indicies as they are not tall enough.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Maybe using a taller gasket for the crystal (I was thinking a clarks 25-295c with a 2.7mm, 2.85mm or 3mm gasket), or a different set of hands?

It seems every new step of this watch opens up a can of worms and I am so exhausted as it keeps getting delayed as I have to order new parts from the other side of the world. It has been an absolute money pit and I'm so close to throwing the towel in.

Anyones help on this is really appreciated. Thanks in advance and hopefully I can reach a solution soon.

Hey guys, has anyone ever looked into whats the most accurate Rafflesdials dial? I have a few builds now and considering another one but curious to which dials are the most accurate to gen.

I have the 16200 silver dial for example. I noticed overall dial looks great but the Rolex font position is a bit off. The 1016 Explorer dials are pretty good too but the thickness of the font is a tad off as well. heres a pic of gen and raffles for the 16200 for comparison. Wondering if anyone else looked into this as well. Thanks in advance!

The biggest flaw is the fact the minute markers don’t fully extend to the edge. This makes the dial look very ill proportioned to the rest of the watch. Smaller detail is the quality of the crown.
