The Ultimate Daytona Buying Guide (Ref. 116520/116500)

Since I discovered the rep world I've purchased 8 Omega Reps. I've never had an interest in Rolex watches but have taken a liking to certain Daytonas. I'm looking at the 116518 with diamonds on the black dial. My research leads me to believe that the Clean or BTF reps would be my best choice. I see Clean V2 on various dealers sites but no V3. If I may tap the knowledge of the Rolex experts here, are either of these 2 factories favored and is there a V3 or only V2 in this model? Thanks for the help.

On endlinks, I forgot exactly the site I bought my endlinks from but looking back at some email chain it was from [email protected], are vendors current endlinks nicer? I need them to fit Noob 2.2 case

Also who has nicest clasp currently?

the vsf version of 116500 black how is it? I am not an expert on this model at all. does it have limitations also in the chronograph movement?

Hello everyone, is it possible to replace a clean version three black dial 116500 with a panda dial from ARF v2 a4310 Mod from 2019? Would it fit or do the feet need to be shaved and if so, what’s the best way?

1) Make sure the Clean still has DD4130 (SA4130) as it's been said that Clean will stop using this movement soon
2) Most TDs will be able to source and often times have crystal installed for you prior to delivery
3) It's peace of mind. I literally have 20 Daytonas (Clean/BTF) and all work fine. Clone movements often aren't the "cleanest" specimens, so it certainly wouldn't hurt to have them serviced. A 4130 service will likely run you north of $400 USD. If your peace of mind is worth $400+ and you can find someone to service it in a timely manner, go for it. I personally have not and would not.

Yes. Most dealers list the DD4130 as SA4130.

There has been much recent discussion about the clean movements used in 116500 vs 126500. Either style works for me. Would the older movement be more reliable or go with the SH on the 12 series? Thanks

They’re both fine. The DD4130 has withstood the test of time and I have a feeling the SH4131 will also. Or you can just do a hybrid build with Clean parts and DD4131 from BTF/VSF.

Just choose whichever looks better to you, not the movement.

However when I ordered, the rep told me that the clean 116500 has A4130 movement. Is this not a 7750 type movement? Please help me to understand. Thanks

If your using a TD and you ordered a Clean it's a DD4130. There is no official terminology for the movements so you'll see so many stupid names for the 4130 now. And the DD4130 is different to the SH4130. And people have called both the DD4130 and SH4130 the A4130 or SA4130. LOL. Nomenclature is fucked.

Why not go with the well known Clean option which has thousands of pictures and reviews? Same with BTF? You know what you are getting.

If you want VSF then buy it and review it and post pictures for us instead!

A cursory analysis seems they're similar, maybe some slight case finish and minor detail differences in clasp and other things.
