I think it's off-topic but one of my WeChat dealers is selling a new custom panda 26331 rep with a gen 1185 movement for USD 4,200. I think this price tag is very low and it might mean that a cheaper 4401 clone movement is imminent?

Actually just a couple of things here

1. If you think about it, it’s just a cal.1185. There isn’t a gen or rep of it as a clone cal was never made.

2. Pricing an older model cheap does not necessarily mean that the new caliber is sure to be available soon. There are many reasons for something being priced at a certain level. It can be indicative of a few things but the only sure thing you can tell is that the seller wants to clear it at that price. Beyond that it’s just speculation.

What I can say is that since the AP 4401 (and also 4404) caliber comes with its own known issues, don’t expect the clone caliber to be perfect and problem free.

Yep, around 5+k depending on the build. That build is the cheapest one because its all parts are rep except for the movement.

Both my gens 26331st and or have gone to AP due to chronograph issues a couple of times, 4130 can stand a nuclear bomb in comparison haha

AP are definitely not known to have bulletproof movements. I have seen some real horror stories, chrono buttons flying off, chrono not functioning, etc.

Yeah rep movement could be just fine, but could also be a pure disaster. I would say there were less duds (clones only) released lately as the makers just have decent quality that may need servicing and run fine. I kind of have faith they will not release a time bomb oddly enough

No info yet on this unfortunately. From the looks of things it might be one of those long standing rumors yet again.

Let's see. This year we got the RM055 clone and the 15407 clone skeleton as well.... so let's just wait.
