Brodders if there are flaws on the rep that you are unsure of and would like the help and advice of the forum members then post a pic and ask the question in the relevant section, no one is saying you can't start a thread and ask advice, I'm just sick of members posting their Qc pics and asking "what do you think" this is not the purpose of Qc pics, and as I said on my previous post the sooner Qc pics are no longer allowed to be posted the better.

The flaws I have identified are not inherent to the gen, but to the rep model and version. This is the crpo version that is post v5, v5.2 rectified the happy feet issue, so I wouldn't expect to see them on the latest update to the line. The bezel numbers are sloppy and poor quality, if I paid 150 USD then fair enough but not at 328 usd, the same for the 1&2 at twelve o'clock.

Are you saying that even at this price (which is the most expensive price across the TD's for this version) I should accept these issues?

If the flaws are inherent to the rep, then there is no need to query if you should accept the watch or not. That's the way that watch is repped. Through your research, you have gained that knowledge.
If the most current version of the rep is supposed to be free of those flaws and the dealer sent you pictures of a watch that contains flaws it should not have, then question the dealer, refuse the watch etc.. Sometimes there are so many different versions of a given watch out there it's confusing. Not all dealers are experts in the terminology and versions that we seem so comfortable discussing.

Also, I can't comment on specific Omega issues. My knowledge of that brand is minimal. Do you have any questions about Panerai? :)

Finally, you seem to have done your research and I'm not trying criticize your quest to gain more knowledge. However, when it comes to QC pics, they should be a private communication between you and the dealer. Or, send a PM to someone who seems to have knowledge of the brand, model you are looking at and ask them.

One good thing would be the opportunity to enjoy multiple pics of a great looking watch.... But in all seriousness i understand where you are coming from.

Thanks Sharrkey, I had already realised this. I will wait until I get the QC pics of the correct watch first though :). Hopefully all will be good in my eyes. Thank you both for taking the time to respond.

Brodders, I have ordered watches where I tell them not to bother with sending me QC pics. I know the TD's I deal with fairly well, and I've yet to be sent a watch with a glaring flaw. When you establish a relationship with a TD , you will see what I mean.

Cheers fiddo, that's just the advice I was looking for mate.

Was not particularly interested in the pam, until I found this forum. They are gorgeous watches. Hopefully will see you over there when I've bought one.

Totally agree with this. QC pics are for the buyer, not the other 49,999 members.

Not sure what this smiley is but using it anyway >:q:<

I have to say that I am surprised that this thread is still ongoing.

Mods, what if we did this - is it possible to create a separate posting area solely devoted to QC pics and review? First, this keeps all of the questions and posts, threads, etc. out of the common areas and it declutters the normal threads. Second, if a seasoned member wants to hop in and give some assistance they are welcomed to do so, but if not then they don't have to look at another QC pic related thread again while spending time in the normal watch areas.

I liken this to viewing porn or unsuitable content on TV. If if bothers you, then don't look at it. Easy solution. Don't open the thread. If someone wants to open it and lend a hand, that's great, but in order to do so they had to enter the QC section and specifcally open that thread. They weren't blindsided by it in the normal watch area.

Just a thought. How does that sound?

I think its a bad idea. Are you saying to open up a thread for QC pics that are just.. how does this look(no specifics)? I think its a blessing the TD's let you look at your watch prior to shipping. If you don't notice something in a picture OR aren't versed enough to know that a hour hand is the wrong one etc.. then opening that line up to inquiry will just screw over our TD's, increase MY wait time for my TD to source my watch because some noob is having buyers remorse over QC pics. On and On IMO.

No, what I am saying is it is obviously a problem on this board. So just sequester the threads. Have a section where people can post approved questions about the QC pics. If I am ordering a watch and I notice something obvious, but I want another trained set of eyes to back me up, I'm going to ask the question, as I rightfully should. But I'll be doing it in a location specifically set up for doing this. That way the normal flow of the Rolex section won't be bogged down with these types of threads.

I never said it would be OK to post dumb questions. We are all in agreement that this is not OK.

And why would your order in any way be impacted by this? That's not how it works. The dealers give you time to approve or reject and this has nothing to do with anyone else's order.

i remember right after i get my qc pics, i make a new thread
and after a few replies, it closed by ALE :D
eventhough i only ask opinion about should i accept this watch or not
with some flaws evidence based on my research and my newbie eyes. LOL

yet i accept it after i think members here alr give such information that i can dig it up myself.

i think QC pics is like a review question, and this forum is like a book with alot chapter.
all we have to do is look and read up things.
then proceed to the question and get good mark (rep like gen)
:D :)

Well, it's no skin off my back as I am building my own vintage pieces from here on out, but the mods have already said QC pics are here to stay under approved circumstances, so you guys are just going to have to learn to live with it.

I just thought I'd offer up a compromise, brain-storming style, for those of you who are so opposed to it. By sequestering the threads the hardliners don't have to suffer the pain of viewing them since there is bound to be a stray one here and there with a dumb or unapproved question.

I've said my peace. Carry on, fellas!

I am not a pimp for any TD. But there are two that I use regularly. One of them is probably the BEST ever. He has actually refused to source me watches because he could not find on acceptable to sell. That's the type of person you want to do business with. But I also don't hound them with 49869483 emails a day. 99% of the QC pics posted on this forums are nonsense. Once in a while you will see a vaild one. It's also the new people who are polluting the forum with them. Rarely do you see a veteran member doing that. If QC opics go away, our TD's will have a lot more time to answer your emails and ship the watches faster. Instead of wasting time with the " Can I get 567 more pictures in macro of the 6 o'clock marker that may have lume that is sloping on a 4% grade ".

^ I think the real issue here is why does that chick in your avatar still have a top on? That's what I want to know. I keep staring at it, mentally trying to wish it away...
