Like what? I didn’t notice anything even under a loupe

Maybe it is the angle (even i don't think so) but the 4,5 and 10 o'clock marker seem a bit off from where they should be positioned. They're not 100% centered on the minute mark in my opinion...

Do you have before and after pics of just the case? Curious as to what needs reshaped on these as I have not been keeping up with the new Daytonas

Very few Members of this Forum are fortunate enough to be able compare so many Genuine and Replica parts in person.

Even fewer are willing to take all of the time to carefully and honestly document so many of the differences, large and small. This is a very valuable review and I am grateful for all of the detail that has been so thoroughly addressed.

DIAL: The overall quality of the black CF dial is pretty good, but the fat subdials are a joke. And since none of the other factories produce a good black dial (We looked at Buff, Noob and ARF v1) there was just no compromise for me on this very essential part… We had to go gen! And boy was that a good decision, that dial just makes the watch.

The Black 116500 Dial has always been a disappointment from all of the Replica Factories. ARF, Noob, and now Clean. Noob got the Sub-dial thickness correct near the end, but none of them have been able to get the correct matte silver finish. In this comparison, it appears that the Clean Black Dial silver Sub-dials are also just too shinny compared to a Gen.

Just the top pic.

My watchmaker had a gen case as reference while he was doing the work. Most of the work went into thinning the right side, getting the correct curves, sharpening up the angles etc.. Hes the expect, not me. But i think the results speak for themselves :)

Thanks M Scott i appriciate the kind words. Since i was i newbie here, i have always enjoyed your own very detailed Daytona posts :)

The overall quality of the black dial is actually really good, the print quality is the best we have seen on a Daytona dial, but yes, the subdials have always been the week point on any black dial so far. If they get the size right i a v2, without fucking anything else up, it would be the best black dial to date

Thank you for the detailed review and comparison. Very informative! Hoping the thick subdials on the black and 116520’s will be corrected once all the old stock dials are gone.

Very nice. I did a lot of the casework on my noob by hand and it took days. It looks nowhere near as good as this! Shame the pushers didn't fit though, that's one rare benefit of the noob, gen pushers fit perfectly.

I haven't been on the forum for months so it's amazing seeing these cf builds already!

Sorry for my ignorance, are the black dials of the gen 116500 and 116520 the same?

I’m afraid they are far from being the same! This Gen Black 116500LN dial is very hard to find where as the 116520 dial is quite easy - a little harder with Blue Chromalight lume than Green Superluminova, the fonts & subdials are also very different.

That and the color and shine of the subdials are very different

Like the others are saying, no, they are quite different.

The 3 main differences is the 5 lines of text. (Font and placement is different)

The subdials (116520 has shiny subdials, on all variations)

Daytona font have on some 116520 dials the older type font.

On the 116520 you have green lume on the older dial, and blue lume on the newer dials (Like the 116500)

116500 Go for 4500 USD and up (If you can find one for sale) 116520 go for 1000 USD and up, depending on the age and state of the dial
