THE PANERAI PROBLEM - Fakes so good you can't tell - PANERAI SUPER FAKES

The truth of the matter is that with many high-end articles, a great portion of the price is for the SNOT-FACTOR. People take much pleasure in knowing that they paid a premium price for something even if they know that the quality is not justified by the price .. only the name associated with it and what people think when they see it.
Rep makers exploit that to the point of addressing the real hard-core screw-counters who must have everything as exactly per the original as possible. Then the lines become not so clear and black and white becomes 50 shades of grey.

So wait... Nobody is shocked with what I said? I am genuinely shocked.. I assumed that they were good but one could tell if one knew what to look for. I mean this 335 in question can actually run for 10 days. And the power fang works. Like everything works.. I'm kinda sad to be honest, a little upset that Panerai isn't doing anything that a China company can't copy 1 for 1.. It really devalues the brand in my opinion. That and the damn watch is waterproof. Though they didn't give me a actual depth rating they said that it should be the same as Panerai, and that pools and snorkelling and light diving will not be a problem, salt water included in that.

Kinda still feeling a bit upset as I really wanted to get the watch.. Now my only choice is retail at $17k or risk getting cheated with a fake :(

EDIT: Just for reference I have three Panerai watches, and I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to fine details. Two were bought retail (one in EU and one in Asia) and one was bought second hand from a "reputable" seller about 5 years back.

To my knowledge, limited as it may be, no rep can run for 10 days. If this site is claiming this, they are lying to you.

I can't see this as a "Panerai" problem. Panerai produces a small amount of watches for the amount of
the people that want them..
For me it's like you call "problem" for nike or adidas the fact that many others produce sneakers too...
Could they cover the entire world needs? i don't think so.

We are in 2017, we are mature enough to protect the genuine creators while choose to live our lives
with the rules that their party enforce us to accept.

And i don't trust people that save their sideburns so high. They look psychotics to me

Don't tell that to Risti, you'll never get out alive.

As mentioned before, there's quite a bunch of reps out there running for over 7 days. PAM 425 from SF is one of them

Nobody is shocked by what you said because 1:1 reps don't exist, despite what the owner of this 'site' you visited told you - sorry to break it to you like this, but he lied to you, he's what's known as a 'Scammer'.

Ok, well I'll be in HK in a few months time. I'll check out a Panerai that I own against the "fake" and if it's identical then how?
I'm certainly not going to buy online and get baited and switched.

Wait, I don't know what the forum rules are.. But surely someone on here has purchased a near 1:1 replica. Something that if you looked at the movement and looked at the dial you couldn't tell real from fake?

Seriously... why no just buy a base model pam from the TD (and only from the TD not the guy that u talking about earlier) and see for yourself?

There is no 1:1 replica, at least not without modding. 80-90% similar, maybe.

One more thing about buying gen is better is the fact that not many watchmakers are rep friendly. I would say 80% of them. I had my local watchmaker refused to service a BK sub with real eta movement. >.<

Not valid point. If you can't service it, or no one wants to service it, buy a new one.

Servicing a gen Rolex = >$500
Buy a new BK = $500

Thanks for the info, I was not aware of that. That's quite an accomplishment coming from the Chinese. Do you happen to know the accuracy and reliability of those long PR movements?

I can only judge by my own experience about the PAM 425 from SF I have. It's very accurate (give or take a minute) along the whole 174h power reserve

Wait now I think you're just wrong.. I have 3 REAL Panerai watches, I'm telling you that I can't seem to tell the difference from images I've been sent. I WILL go see a fake in person and I'll compare my real one to said fake. IF I can't tell the difference on observation then it's near 1:1... If I buy it and it works exactly like the original then it's 1:1.
I won't be able to go to HK for a few months though, so I'll have to report back if anyone is interested.

There is still a chance they're trying to bait and switch me. But meeting up in person will obviously be the safest way to determine it.

That's not a super fake, that's just a normal every day NF Pam. None of our dealers sell the Pam super fakes and apparently neither does Archie's.

It's well known that a lot of scam rep sites will show you pictures of gens to get you interested.
When you receive the watch, it's a Canal St fake.

If the dealer you're speaking to is not in the Trusted Dealers list, chances are they might not be on the level.

Ps: I'd say members here have access to the 'state of the art' in Pam reps. Take a read through the Pam section and see the lengths some members go to to 'franken' their reps, or the small points of difference they can readily point out.

Some reps are going to look and feel very close out-of-the-box, but I think 'Archie', as usual, is engaging in hysteria and sensationalism to bolster his flagging views/subs.

Maybe you are right.. Which is why I intend to view in person. I don't know what "Archie" means. And I couldn't care less about views/subs. I joined this forum ages ago so I could contact a man about a buckle. Turned out that I just ended up buying an "original" from a fellow named Dirk. And I haven't gone to this site until I started researching fakes.

So as far as everyone knows a fake 335 or fake dot dial 233 won't look anything like the original?

So basically I have to fly to HK view and see for myself. And if I'm right, I buy and post pics as proof. If I'm wrong I warn you all about bait and switch dealer?

I mean... Look at my join date and look at my posts.

Archie is the (nutjob) guy in the video this thread was originally about.
I don't doubt your integrity @caleb, but there is a whiff of hyperbole about most Archie Luxury videos.
(See the original post for Archie video)

Ps: if you haven't been here for a while, definitely take a look at the Trusted Dealers section.
Take a look at the PAMs they are offering. I am fairly sure our Trusted Dealers have access to the best PAM reps available, and the element of trust means what you see is what you get 99% of the time. See how a Trusted Dealer compares with the dealer you're speaking to.

Just my 2c.

Above posters are spot on. 'Archie Luxury', or whatever his real name is, is just a character actor. His videos are meant to be entertaining, if one finds entertainment in his bizarre musings.
