this is actually a serious issue, another thread here has pointed out how many fake panerai exist on ebay because of this

Yeah, they are so good that I kind of regret buying a gen. I'm just glad there is no good rep of my gen... yet.

Is it because your gen panerai got a power-reserve indicator? Non of the reps seem to have a working one (except fantasy models with obscure movements)

No, I have a pam590, cuz I wanted the "8 giorni brevettato" logo. Last I checked they haven't made a good rep of it yet.

Haha not only a Panerai problem, my Breitling blackbird even fooled my Horology teacher, right down to the timegraph!
What about Rolex? BK's DSSD's are right up there!

...TC submariner. Only difference significant is the movement, which can be swapped with a Yuki, would then have the time set in the correct direction.

I can't see this as a "Panerai" problem. Panerai produces a small amount of watches for the amount of
the people that want them..
For me it's like you call "problem" for nike or adidas the fact that many others produce sneakers too...
Could they cover the entire world needs? i don't think so.

We are in 2017, we are mature enough to protect the genuine creators while choose to live our lives
with the rules that their party enforce us to accept.

And i don't trust people that save their sideburns so high. They look psychotics to me

The V7 extreme is insanely good now that TC pretty much perfected it to perfection
The older versions like V6 and before had huge tell signs (e.g. seconds pinion hole, solid end link's centre link is too high, the bezel teeth shape, etc.. but I suffer from OCD unfortunately)

Actually you are wrong - to mention two of them PAM027-PAM028 they were produced a while ago and they have fully working PR and have been considered by many like the first super reps..

This is why I bought a GEN - doubt the chinese will force to replicate an 8 day movement but you never know. Year by year they focus on more complicated movements. This year should be really something new when it comes to clone movements, at least some dealers are announcing this..

That is good news, I always thought their PR indicator was a dummy one. I am not a Panerai expert and I only dwell in the Rolex section, but maybe I can buy and try to franken a pam one day

Actually the reserve is as much as 174 hours. Most TD's mention "72 Hours+ Power Reserve" covering themselves because the true reserve will vary quite a bit, but not less than 72h. I guess they do this as I read issues from people whereby the timekeeping started to slow down close to or after 72h. I'm not having that issue, keeps perfect time for over 174h (from Monday 11:00 until the next Monday 17:00)
