The Moonswatch metal mod aka Project Alaskswatch

Hello fellow watch fans.

Today i want to take you on a mission from Mars to Alaska. A metallification of a Moonswatch!

It all started with this photo of the Omega Project Alaska watch.



The mission? Converting a Moonswatch Mission to Mars into a hommage to Project Alaska.

Spoiler alert, Houston we did it!!! And ofcourse everything works including the chronograph.



One final touch is still needed but i am not sure if i am going to do it. And that is the crown. I kind of like it with the moonswatch plastic crown.

So what do you think? I will tell you more about it soon!

have you tried to remove the crown from the stem? is it screwing into the case as is?

Thanks mate. And yes it does get off the stem. The red crown is now placed on a newly purchased stem which was needed to fit this crown to the new case. The current problem is that i cannot get the metal crown, from the Corgeut case, removed from its stem. I need some other tools for that. So i thought lets finish this up first and get this wearable and enjoy it for now.

Thanks dude. The red crown is a wink to the moonswatch but when i get the metal crown off its stem i will ofcourse replace it to see the final result. I can always decide to go back.

Use this instead, and we will pretend the "AP" stands for "Alaska Project", which is the same as Project Alaska

Fun ! It's a shame that Swatch decided to make the second hand different from the others, but hey. Fun build nontheless, I'm almost tempted to try it out myself with my Mission to Venus rep.
How does the movement fit inside the Corgeut case and is the movement holder it comes with enough to keep it in place ?

The corgeut case is a bit bigger and so the movement holder itself is not good enough. You need some fiddling to get the fit right.

Very cool project.
Was actually just talking about it in my watch group on telegram like 3 weeks ago lol.

Good that u decided to replace the red crown, it was not fitting of the general feel.
Now its pretty much perfect!
