Gold wrapped is an additional 4microns? I thought it was much thicker than that.

I do agree that the champagne date wheel looks better as it blends in with the dial, but the white is easier to read. Honestly I wish the GEN was like this. Nothing I can do for now but wait until it's corrected as I want a 1:1 REP as close as possible to GEN.

Actually it´s more like the difference between 3 microns and 5 microns, 10 at the very best. "Wrapping" on reps is just a slightly thicker plating, from the quantity of material used it´s in cents for each wrapped part, marketing hype. The visible difference is that on "wrapped" if they are well done - the (mostly invisible) sides of the inner links are gold too.
If You want 1:1 as close as possible to Gen go for a 36mm Datejust 1 and look up MyManMatt and Stonep Datejust. And no, they don´t have a 40mm - but You said priority was closest to GEN and quality

I'd recommend you go for the silver dial mate.. it's equally breathtaking and doesn't have the date wheel issue..

But all of the dd's have that crappy font for the letters though. True that the white is better than the champagne, but still not correct. I think I'm just going to go gold, and try and switch up the dwo to a more correct one. Gonna check if it's up to take gen parts

For Rolex I like the way it looks stock or perhaps do a gen. Crystal if I can find one for this particular watch.

Agreed bro. But the absolute best day date rep which is extremely rare to find now a days is the TW Best day date

I'm by no means a rolex pro.. but I'm 99% sure that they went with the IIII to maintain symmetry with the VIII (8). FYI - both IV and IIII are valid roman numerals for 4..

That's a bad angle pic of the watch my friend. I'd urge you to check out the video that TT uploaded of the watch, you can see it in HD.. the Dial is indeed the correct one, and the crown is not flat - It's just a matter of lighting. Regarding the Day font.. I'm with you on that - it is inaccurate.. but realistically who's gonna notice that while walking in public?

It's certainly possible but then again with reps you never know. They could get the date font and color correct and then mess up something completely different.

We will just have to wait until they are released and see but the day and date wheels are easy enough to swap out anyway so if that's really the only flaw with these watches I'd say we got lucky.

Personally Im more concerned with them getting the color of the gold correct and matching the gen.
