Claims to be real
Swiss ETA but hard to tell, could a expert enlighten to what they think
About the movement claiming to be genuine Swiss ETA?

I believe this is a Swiss ETA :)

I thought it was but wasn't sure. I did some checking and research last night and inspected it under a loupe for the usual tells. On Asian copies such as writing closer to rotor edge on the 25 jewels, way the jewel is mounted in the shock system etc.

That is a good deal but I'd have to think the gold color would not be as accurate as the wrapped version. Not sure if it's that much of a difference though for the price premium. Thoughts?

It's funny, I can't tell if it's just the way those pics were taken but the gold color on that watch looks better then the $300 YG plated BPs. The wrapped is still king though :)

It says BP but the only way I can really tell is by the bracelet code and it's not visible from the pics.
I mean for the price an those pictures it looks like a steal IMO. I'm just going to go with the wrapped version because I know I won't be happy until I try that one.

My thoughts exactly. Plus that other watch is a 2813 movement so the sweep won't be as gen.

I paid for Swiss Eta and got it with the looks of it but like I said in my 1st post it's really hard to tell unless your looking very close under magnification with some of them. Even then you'll still have some say it isn't real Swiss or a combination of both parts and re-conditioned!

Yes very true it's a bit iffy now a days but i know for a fact there are brand new Swiss etas out there. My dd40 wrapped came with one and it was verified as new. Plus if you really wanted you could also buy from one of the many watch parts sites. Either way they are both very solid movements.

I was looking at some last night, some as cheap as $150 for new old stock. You'll get jewellers retiring selling off all their old stock for very good prices. Ppl will buy all their old stock as a bulk buy then sell them on eBay individually and make a fortune.

If anyone is interested in selling their wrapped YG DD40 let me know. I may be interested in buying it. Still debating between buying new or via M2M

Just to share interesting info I found yesterday about DD. I though SS versions do not exists and that statement is almost correct. After the announcement of the DD back in 1956 10 SS DDs were given to the members of the R&D team who created the watch. Apparently that SS DD will be interesting finding with probably price in the vicinity of new DD40 platinum.
Soon I will join that club with DD40 BP version ice blue dial with blue roman numerals.

I was wondering between that version you ordered and that with the with the blue roman numerals and I choose for me the later. Otherwise great choice wear it in good health and enjoy!
Which version you picked BP ot Noob. For me is important the instant change day and date and what I found among the TDs videos BP version is the right choice if you want switch over on 12 00
