However it's a positive thing on your wrist. 1 look and it's super obvious it's not platinum. The rehaut engravings look good and the dial is pretty crisp. All the Roman numbers are placed correctly. A gem crystal would help. Certainly not in the same realm as noob v7. Not even close

How would one look make it obvious that it's not platinum? Does not platinum look very much like steel?

half the weight of the gen bluesy? LOL yeah thats light. Even the V7s or the new YMs are quite good. Do they feel hollow the links? Because if these were solid I'm trying to comprehend why the weight difference is so huge.

I'll try and put both watches on a scale tomorrow to compare and snap some pics. I've held a gen platinum dd several times and it's hard to explain but the platinum pops and shines differently and seems a lighter in color. The rep is just kinda dull. The gen is also much much heavier than my bluesy(new ceramic model). Really very noticeable

Some numbers and figures would be great. Platinum is 1/3rd heavier than 18 ct gold. On the old Datejust 1 gold the difference was only like 10 grams as the gen case was hollow gold and the rep case full steel. DJ1 gen gold bracelets alone weighed in at around 73 grams (if I remember right).

My 41mm DJ II with SS bezel instead of white gold weighs "only" 140 gr. with 1 or 2 links removed, the gen 116334 is 151 gr.

For the gen 41mm Day-Date II the weight is:
Weight:
Gold - 220 grams
Platinum - 278 grams

Ok I have some numbers for you guys my day date 40 is 127.8 g with a total of 6 removable links on the bracelet per side. (my td added a few more so i don't know how many the stock bracelet comes with and I took 2 off)

*Keep in mind this watch is case heavy and I havent taken the bracelet off to measure itself and that's really the number I am interested in.

My bp 116618 is 151.3g no links removed

Noob v6s 149.2 - 1 link removed

116613lb (noob wrapped)- 149.7 - 2links removed

Daytona 23j- 143.8 - 1 link removed

No links removed it fits nice on my 7,2 inch wrist...will remove one link to sit perfectly,its ok concerning the weighr,of course its -100gr from the gen,if only they made it close to 150-160 with more weight on the bracelet..overall quality is pretty good

Agreed. Around 150-160 like the sub weight would be nice.

I had an extra bp gold plated bracelet for my sub that I was able to weigh separately and it's 77.8g with full links which is a very nice weight considering the full watch is 151.3g so on this watch the bracelet is slightly more then the case.
This weight on the day date would be perfect.

No These prices are in line with all the other Rolex reps.

For 328 your getting a brand new Swiss eta inside so that's not a bad deal. A sub is 358 and that's with a2836

I bought a submariner back in 2004 with swiss eta and it still works after years of abuse. It's only the bezel insert that keeps coming off and I keep losing.

I have ordered the day-date 40 from trusty and am awaiting for QC photos.

I had a plated rep that had black spots where there was no gold. It used to happen around the lugs so I'd ask my TD to take the strap off for QC. Just an FYI

Yeah it arrived with damage so I sent it back for a replacement. Without the damage it was perfect.
