The font is completely incorrect and also too big. A fellow member posted comparison pictures earlier in this thread

Thats talking about the date window and there is no comprehensive comparisons or even any in-depth discussions on this at all. I just re-read pages 7-10 and the information on those pages arent even discussing the day fonts or anything?

I dunno man it looks pretty decent to me.

I see. Any recommendations who makes the best DD reps?

Also I noticed that the rep from TrustyTime has a flat crown tips on the dial of the watch. They're suppose to be embossed/curved. Having a 3d like effect. See:

There is not an in depth quantitative/qualitative analysis, ok. But it's clear that the rep day wheel is not correct. Not enough space between the dial and the S and the Y; in addition the font is too tall and marked. I think that's enough for seeking a better day wheel...de gustibus!
Talking about the rolex crown, I think it's a problem of light and shadows.

The point is: Can we adapt a 36mm president dd dial on the 40mm?

I highly doubt it. The 36mm dial will be to small for the 40mm case

I wrote to a couple of Rolex Gen parts resellers and they told me that the diameter of the dial is 28.5mm. Now we only have to know the exact diameter of the rep dd40.. If only China post were faster:cryingbadly:

Good to know. My watch will be here tomorrow but I'm not brave enough to take it apart to measure the dial lol.

I did order a replacement date wheel if my numbers are a bit off so if and when I have it installed I will ask my modder to measure the dial.

Why don't you DIY?! :bestbook: It's a piece of cake
The only thing we have to pay attention to is the insignificant Au plating, that if we are lucky is an Au flash of 0.1/0.3 microns

I would love to be able to everything myself eventually but I'm not there yet. Plus like you said it's gold so you need to be extra careful with this watch so i would rather not risk it. I'm lucky enough to live a few minutes away from one of the best modders so I would rather just have him do it and I know it will come out perfect :)

I think the day font is the same as the old 36 mm.

So not thát off, just a day font from an older model. Still not correct though, but not complete fantasy. It seems the older day font was bigger and bolder than the newer 40mm. Or at least it seems that way too my eyes.

If you got the YG with the white dial, that way you would have the right colour date wheel, could you then change the dial to the champagne gold?
