Also - Does anyone know if any TD sell the AP Royal Oak Chrono that isn't 13-14 mm thick? I believe a GEN is roughly 10.5 to 11.5 mm thick but I wasn't able to find any TD who sell one that are close to the GEN size.

This is the AP i'm talking about.
Until a rep AP chrono movement is developed, we're stuck with the current thicker models. There is a cheap rep with a quartz movement that is thinner than 13-14 mm thickness available from DHGate for under $100.00. It has flaws, particularly with the sub-dials. The actual rep from DHGate will have proper AP logos.

No chance with automatic movement.

I agree with you, and even though I don't know watch making I think that something is shifting and moving the hands.

Do I think that eventually they will fall off or something? No. Would I have it fixed next service? Definitely.

Hope you can get a more technical answer from a pro!
Thanks very much. This is definitely something I will have looked at soon. Just very, very odd.

Yeah i thought that was the answer I was going to get. I guess i'll just go with the regular Royal Oak and not the chrono for now!

Anyone have any experience using RubberB Straps? https://rubberb.com/

They claim they're straps are made from switzerland, and i've seen a couple of videos on YouTube of people swapping out their AP's SS or leather straps for some rubber ones from RubberB.

For $250-$300 it seems like a lot for a rubber watch strap but I do not see any other alternatives out there that are good quality. Any thoughts? Any better alternatives someone can provide?

Get what you pay for bud. If your wondering if the price is worth it yes (to many people).
Replica straps are like 50-100$ depending on what one.
I had a 15703 on rep strap, bought a used OEM and oh my God totally different watch. Was the first time I really understood the difference. I recommend using a rep strap for awhile then buy the Rubber B and you'll see the difference. Better than spending 500$ on OEM strap.

Just ordered the AP and ordered a RubberB black strap. Thank you for your wisdom :)

Okay - last question I promise (When i start digging i like to go over board). I've been reading posts about (@legend ? or another legend maybe?) doing mods and work to REP's. I would really like to find GEN glass to replace the glass on my Royal Oak I just purchased. I would also like to get GEN screws (Just on the on the face side, I don't have to get GEN screws on the bottom, right?)

Is there any reputable dealers/sites you guys recommend to purchase the screws and new GEN glass?

If not, does anyone do work to these (again, i've read Legend does it, and if you do i don't mind spending the money for you to make it look more so Genuine).

I'd also like to buy a black GEN dial, but obviously that's about $2,000-$5000. Can the black dial on the REP be made to look more like the GEN?

I apologize for all the questions!

You don't need a "gen" crystal. Pointless mod. You can buy a Deep crystal or XTAL and have a crystal sent to Prof to have it AR coated but the factory crystal (aftermarket Deep/XTAL) comes with good AR on the crystal.

Don't waste your money on a name brand piece of sapphire. You can get the exact same effect. Any modder will probably tell you to do the same if you ask their opinion.

I agree with @willthewristmaster99 with regard to the crystal, the stock factory one is good enough and comparing the stock to gen vs other aftermarket ones, the stock rep is is still the closest to gen. Don't waste your money upgrading it. Visually the key difference between rep and gen is the dial. Spend time and money on that instead.

P.S. This is a questions thread and the purpose is for any member to ask any AP related question, in any language, as often as you like.

To answer your question, the tapisseries on the rep (whichever version) are different vs the gen but it can be modded to resemble the gen better visually.

I appreciate the honesty everyone brings on this forum. Saving money is always a good thing :)

Who would you recommend/know of that does the tapisseries modification? I am leaving to Switzerland in about 4 months and won't be back in the US for 8 months, so I'd like to get it ready by the time I leave if that's anyway shape or form possible timing wise.

This is the truth. Much better off just getting Prof to AR stock crystal, and spend good money on a gen dial.
