As i was bothered by the shape of the stock T22 crystal i decided to smooth the edges and shave it a little bit down. Here is the result:

I am contemplating turning my Tiger-Concepts into a 1016 for a while now. I have a Raffles Dial and am about to get the crown and rivet bracelet from him as well. What would be a good crystal upgrade that would fit the case and bezel?

I tried slay 's new 6538 hand set to meet the correct hands length for my viet 1016 gilt chapter ring dial. Case set is JMB's latest batch.

Any suggestions for a second hand, that touches the chapter ring, like slays does, but has a smaller "lollipop"?

At first, I was going to buy a stock rep 1016, but then read a few threads about obvious tells (no drilled lugs, sapphire crystal), so I abandoned that idea. I am now going to build a reasonably inexpensive and easy 1016. I am not yet on the route of trying to get a specific Type Whatever dial, gen movement, proper tube size, hand height (not length, height; saw a thread on that!), etc. But this thread has cemented any thoughts I might have had of building a 1016 and dismissed any hesitation. It is truly a classic and timeless watch, and IMHO the Explorer line is the best Rolex line.

Loving this thread. Looks like I have been bitten by the bug too! I sold my rep 1016 here a few years back and have regretted it ever since.....
