nicely done.
love the color of the fautina and caseback.
imo these hands match the waffle dial best.
not a big fan of that big ass crown though lol it could lose some weight... just my 2, 000, 0000 cents. :p
Agreed - the crown will need reshaping too 👍

guys, how do you work?
Are you all neat freaks with tool trays and all? or is your bench a mess during operations?

I am rather neat when doing serious work but when doing a quick fix, I am all over the place. Issue comes when the quick fix has complications 😅

I start out in pristine conditions...and it gradually turns into a cluttered mess. Then I reboot and start over. I'm on a roughly 3 month cycle, lol.

It's messy DURING operations unless they are very delicate - in which case I have a tidy up.
I'm also a great one for having a good tidy up at day's end; making sure all tools are back in respective places, bench is clean and mat cleaned for next time.

18:00 came and we tested to 5 Bar. Crown Tube leak. But I had a feeling it would as one of the gaskets was pretty mangled. Shall fit a new one tomorrow and re-test. Caseback and bezel were good. It's initally disconcerting as you get a lot of bubbles from everywhere- Lug Holes and under the bezel but they clear fast to leave the real culprit. The Crown Tube smaller gasket is pretty trashed so I'm not disappointed. As I say, will swap out tommorow and re-test and I expect it to pass.

That was earlier afternoon test after silicon greasing case back and crown tube gaskets, same result this evening. The gasket is fried.

I just ordered a bunch of case back and crown gaskets for the same reason...it seems a lot of the Raffles cases I get have damaged gaskets from the case back being installed (probably by me) improperly...the damn thing just wants to get pinched between the case and back, lol.

And water resistance tests...I'm at the point where I remove the movement/dial/hands before I test the case. If the gaskets are really bad, sometimes you get water inside no matter how carefully you perform the test.

And since someone's sure to ask, this is what I got (pretty sure they're cheaper on Ebay/AliX, but was buying something from Amazon already, so added them in).

The caseback performed well, but I was particularly testing the acrylic and bezel, and that performed well too. Having said that I can’t be sure of anything until I’ve got good gaskets in the crown tube and that will be tomorrow..

Have just tried again with no movement and all was well up to 5 Bar.
So now I'm wondering why? Is the Stem "fleeting" in the tube because I have the movement slightly mis-aligned (up and downie) due to my No-Date situation.
Can I rig something up - possibly Laser - to measure Trueness of through Crown Tube to Motion Hole on moveement and thus ensure no Fleeting.

Christ, what an exciting Friday Night it's turning in to! . ..
