I think that when you're a rep lover, especially if Rolex, then a TC (or 3) are a must. The fact that we have access to these is incredible and it won't last forever. This is not the watch to waffle on, if you want a sub, you gotta have a TC!

That's because Rolex uses 904
You can't really compare 904 to 316, two totally different grades of steel.

That's incorrecrt for the 5 digit Rolex subs. Rolex didn't start using 904L in the bracelet til 2006. The quality of the 316L or polishing may be what you guys are seeing in the pics. Unless your buddies sub is 2006-2010.

Depends on which part of the watch he was referring too, Rolex used 904L as early as 1985 in case's, and later starting in the early 2000's it became more prevalent, they transitioned from 316L to 904L in 2006 for their bracelets.
Either way marine grade 316L can't be beat and I am happy to have it.
