UPDATE:
As [MENTION=83013]smoke[/MENTION] pointed out, this turns out to be a V6s with a v7 bracelet, so i guess you can say i got lucky. V6s is known for having a better midcase shape.
Hi guys,
After a whole week with the V7 on the wrist i think it's time i share some thoughts with everyone here on the forum.
I know there were others before me to do similar threads but i think me sharing a few ideas and impressions about the quality and feel of the watch wouldn't hurt anybody. And this would probably show the variations if any of the V7.
First of all i would like to give credit to all before me who made similar comparisons and i would like to mention here @SS72 and @Subjeff for their contribution to the forum:
Here are the links to their threads:

Here we go. First of all i have the V7 116610 LN SA3135.
Initial impression:
So the first things to hit me after opening the package were the bad SEL and the feel of the bracelet.
I was expecting a squeeky rattleing bracelet but i can certainly tell you that this wasn't the case. It felt buttery smooth and kinda had that marble feel and sound.
While the bracelet feel really pleased me , the SEL on the other hand just killed the whole watch. I remeber my 1st thought was to immediately sell the sub.
Another small issue discoverd upon arrival was the dial missalignement in relation to the rehaut engraving.
Well a week has passed and after some late night fiddling with the watch most of the problems are now gone.
I've managed to succesfuly fix the SEL issue (that was really bugging me) and i've also managed to put the dial in it's correct position so the 60min marker is spot on with the rehaut crown.
I have to say that now with those things out of the way the watch has grown on me and i just love how it sits on my wrist. I even feel like i've just bought a 8k gen sub and feel very proud about it [emoji23] .
The bad news is that the bracelet lost all it's butter smooth feel. It now rattles and squeaks like an old door.
I'll give the bracelet an oil bath and hope i solve this problem too.
But the real surprise about this watch though, was yet to reveal itself. And i'm talking about the moment ...it faced the Gen [emoji33] .
I'll let you see some pictures and let you make an opinion and after that i'll share mine.
First some indoor shots. These show better the shape deffects of the v7:
Left is gen here, but you can tell the gen from the rep by looking at the shiny scallops (bezel teeth). GEN has the shiny scallops.
In the side by side below GEN is on the right:
In the one below V7 is on top:
Below is the GEN on top :
The last one really shows what i'm talking about. Can you see how straight is the light reflection on the Gen compared to the V7 when passing from the lug to the sel and lug again ?
Sorry for mixing the pictures :whistling:.
Now some outdoor pics. Here the shape defects are less obvious:

Funny how the gen dial isn't perfect aligned with the rehaut.
After a long stare at the watches side by side the gen owner was mute. [emoji15] [emoji23]
"- Are you f. Kidding me?
- Is this really a fake ?"
While i was able to tell the Gen from the Rep in an instant, he wasn't...obviously.
Even after some explaining he still couldn't tell the watches apart.
Here are some of the differences i could find (and already knew about thanks to RWI ). I'll put them in 3 categories:
Worth mentioning:
- thicker minute hand
- platinum paint insert
- bigger and taller pearl
Not worth mentioning:
- silverish ceramic bezel (not the case for me, didn't see any difference in the bezel color)
- dial print
- rehaut engraving depth ( not as visible as gen's but a very small difference)
Strainght tells:
- cyclops ( you can barely see the v7's date in staright sunlight while the gen has that nice black hole effect exposing the date perfectly)
- SEL if not fixed
- Scallop / bezel teeth shine
- lug shape
So here is my conclusion:
If you are going for total gen look you defently have to change the crystal, address the SEL position issue and go for a gen bezel assembly.
The platinum insert is hard to notice and i think that if i hadn't read here about it i'd probably have missed it.
The bezel engraving is so small when looking at the watch that imo it's really hard to tell the difference between the nuances of grey. But for sure it's one of those 'once you've seen it it cannot be unseen' cases [emoji23] .
The thing that bothered me more then then bezel insert is the shape of the lugs. They lack that flat finish that the GEN has. The light doesn't reflect in a straight line like it does on the SeL.
Here is a video that better ilustrates this:

The scallop may look dull from pictures but they do shine on the V7. While the shine is constantly there on the Gen the V7 has a more eye catching shine that i find more refined and interesting.
Here is a video of it:

The gen lacks this ripple shine effect and imo it doesn't look as good as the v7.
Here is another video showing the noisy v7 bracelet in comparison to the Gen:

So what more can you want from a rep? Like someone said here before, this is almost too good to be true and we should take full advantage of this amazing reps while we still can.
The only thing i'll do to my watch is a gen crystal and a bracelet lubrification.
I wish all of you a good night !
