New straps arrived today. 2 vintage gustav ammo straps made by Attirail.
I've had gustav ammo straps from other makers, but these are the best so far, beautifully done and comfortable to wear right from the start.

Some pics for you guys :

My two Attirail straps also arrived today. Amazing quality as usual from Francois. I was hesitant ordering the khaki shark because the other shark straps I have had were all a bit stiff and a little artificial feeling - this one is soft and almost suede like in feel and texture. I love the burgundy lining. The painted French ammo was sourced from the side portion of the pouch, so it has a very distinctive texture and soft feel.

I did a search before posting this and all I could find was about oiling bracelets. I'm building up my quality strap collection now and wanted to know what products you guys are using on yours to keep them looking and feeling good. Google says mink oil but also seen olive oil and Neatsfoot??? I don't want to darken the colours just protect and maintain or help keep softness.

Mink oil is going to darken them for sure.

It's usually possible to 'wake up' the natural oils in a strap using heat from a hair dryer and massaging with your fingers. Unless a strap is very dry I will typically just use a leather conditioner rather than an oil after cleaning and the heat/massage.

Everyone will have favorite products but I've had great results with Lexol for cleaning (using a soft horse hair brush, either Saphir or Griots conditioner and if a strap needs a lot of work I will use Dr. Jackson's rejuvenator. Dr. J's will slightly darken the leather at first but tends to return back to very close to the original color once fully dry.

Many thanks for your reply, I will have to try this out.

I do like stingray straps, that shimmer works well with all stainless steel watches :)
