Congrats on your purchase! One of Steinhart watches is also on my wish list and it will actually be either this one or Vintage red. Thanks for pics, looks amazing! Enjoy it! Here are the pics. PM me if you need help about posting them. ;)

Thanks! You won't regret it I assure you! My first instinct was to get the plain black GMT as I don't usually do colourful watches, but I am really glad I did - its just a stunning combination.

And thank for the offer of help on the photos :)

Nothing wrong with Steinhart watches,I've had a fair few and I now have the Limited edition NavB UHR.
Mind you it will be up for sale soon as the watch collection is fast going out of control again!.

My Ocean one vintage is one of the best buys I have ever made. Great value for money, fantastic reliability and a true Swiss movement. Will get one of the 7750 Chronos next year.

On vintage leather

On original steel bracelet

I just love them, this is my second one and it's the best bang for the buck IMO ( handwind 47mm NavB on Steinhart mesh )

and on cracked leather:

I had an Ocean 1 Vintage Red which I sold to help fund another JDM purchase. It was a great watch. The movement stayed within COSC specs throughout the time I owned it. One of the nice things about Steinharts is the resale value. I enjoyed that watch for two years and then sold it for 75% of what I originally paid for it.

I had the ocean one red. It kept great time but the lume was pretty bad.

I am a lume snob and agree. If Steinhart would do C3 with a white base, I'd probably still own mine.

I got the new OVM a little while ago and love it.
Lume is OK too - though certainly not Seiko diver level.

I sold my red and black GMT after around 1 month use. I did like it but was concerned that the bezel marked very easily. I already had noticeable scratches after careful, light usage.

As others have said, the lume is also very average.

Furthermore, I found the power reserve unimpressive.

Given that these watches are not currently available I was able to sell it for pretty much what I paid.

The Coke, with the original Poseidon case back and Rolex Esq bezel was the best variation of that model. That's the same one I had. I had them replace my insert and it was much improved.

I have had no trouble with my two Steinharts. I have the green ocean one & their GMY. So far I actually found their customer service to be really good. Yes email communication was slow because of the time zone difference but they always got back to me. They covered my GMT under their warrenty for having a dim lume and even paid for my shipping both ways. I think they offer some of the best watches out there for the money and as others have mentioned they seem to retain their value.

Has anyone here ever had their Steinharts re-lumed to make them brighter or better?

I have nearly pulled the trigger on the steinhart ocean one black (ceramic) multiple times.. Both on the steinhart page or the classifieds for pre owned watches. Everybody that has em swears by them and how they are tremendous bang for your buck
