I had the GMT-ocean one, I thought the head of the watch was fantastic quality for the money, the bracelet and clasp were very mediocre.
What I have alway wondered, as I've never purchased a rep is how a noob or JF AP ROO compares quality wise. Maybe someone who owns both can respond?

I was considering taking steinhart ocean one as one of my daily beaters... But I ended up buying the Pelagos rep. Lol. I had the opportunity to play with one my friend had, find the quality rather good, but it's just too similar to a sub!

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on Steinhart watches?

They a priced at around the same as a high quality rep so am considering something like:

http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-vintage-Military-,477.html

Just wondering what the build quality like, especially the bracelet?

thanks guys

I've had a Nav B for over 4 years and I don't wear it dily. Everytime I pick it up, set it, it starts immediately. It was my first automatic watch, really my first nice atch, and still one of my favs. Nothing but great things to say about them, they are alot of watch for he money.

Given the choices, I'd go for gen over rep given those choices
Thats a big call. I love reps too but i guarantee the quality control at steinhart is better than whatever sweat shop is producing the rep.

I love Steinhart watches. I used to own IWC Pilot, which I sold it now. I always wanted a Big Pilot, but I can't afford it. I like the style of Big Pilot watch. I don't care what brand as long as it is a nice quality watch. I saw Steinhart Pilot watch in person, and I am in love with that thing. Just like in the picture above. I want one in PVD black version. The price is just about right, very affordable, and the quality is top notch. You would not regret getting one. Their collection is great, too.

I have the ocean OVM and the bronze version too. The build quality is as good as my Gen Omega seamaster pro 300 and the bezel click mechanism is even better, sort of a more solid click if you know what I mean. Here's a pick of my ocean bronze with a forced patina of placing it in a sealed bag with a boiled egg to let the sulphur do its work!

The colour when new just looked too gold/brassy for my liking. Happy with it now though.

Does the brass feel noticeably heavier than steel?
Boiled egg distressing/patination? Who'd a thunk it. Amazing.

Yep ain't Youtube brill[emoji6].
Not really noticed much difference from my stainless OVM version unlike my Rep Pam 671 bronzo which is a real heavy chunk at 47mm but also awesome!
