Steinhart watches are some of the best for the money. I owned an Ocean Vintage Military (an homage to the Rolex Milsub) and it was the smoothest and most tightly build watch I've ever had. Sold it to fund other watches, but promised myself I'd buy another one someday. You can't go wrong with a Steinhart IMO.

Did you buy direct from their german web site?

I have read nothing but bad reports on the service and shipping times.

Ya I bought from their site. No problems to report. Wait time was about a month, but that's because the watch was out of stock when I ordered.

Thats encouraging.....i sent them an email enquiry on thursday and don't have a response as yet....although their website does it can take up to a week to reply.....i guess they have a small team and a high demand.

Ya in some ways they're a lot like a TD - sometimes the communication isn't lightning fast, but they'll get you sorted eventually.

More than I can say. Just a beautiful piece of horology. As I said, I WILL be getting another one someday.

I had an ovm as we'll. great watch but bracelet was just ok. It felt like a rep quality bracelet but I guess that is expected at that price point. Sold it as well since 42mm was just too small for my taste.

Yes I would also prefer a 44/45 than the 42 but it's not a deal breaker for me.

thats surprising re the bracelet...the brushed steel on on the GMT looks especially nice.

I had the ETA2893 GMT Coke Ocean Diver. Loved it! The 2893 is a gem!

I recently got the Ocean Black DLC and i LOVE it. I don't think I'll be speaking about it in the past tense any time soon. Email communication with their reps was about 2-3 day turnaround. It took about a month to get my watch, but my expectations have been exceeded with the piece so it was well worth the wait.

I note you use the word HAD! :)
Correct! I loved the watch but I go in phases where I sell off things and get other watches. I happened upon a gen planet ocean. ;) I do miss the watch but the Omega was what I really wanted.

I hear you - i don't think anyone would blame you for funding a purchase like that!

I actually had to call up Steinhart in Germany as my old address was on my paypal details....they were very friendly and accommodating , not to mention perfect english too!

I bought the ocean 1 green direct from Steinhart. No issues and shipped in the time frame they said. The only thing I do not like is the anti reflective coating on the crystal. Gives it a blue tint in certain lights. Well made watch.

So my Steinhart arrived today!! It really is like Xmas when that box arrives isn't it?

It really is a quality piece and I can absolutely say it was love at first sight.

The thing I love most is the brushed metal bracelet - it's pure class.
I have added some poor quality iPhone pics to this post which due to the bad light makes the face look a bit dull - which is not the case at all.

Here is the link to the actual product:

The ordering process with Steinhart takes some patience though. It can take them a few days even a week to respond to an email but once they do, the order happens quickly after.

I paid by paypal on September 19 and it arrived October 1 - actually should have been a day earlier however FedEx stuffed me around. So less than 2 weeks from Germany to Melbourne Australia - can't complain about that.

I called Steinhart to confirm my order and they were very friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely thrilled with this purchase!

Congrats on your purchase! One of Steinhart watches is also on my wish list and it will actually be either this one or Vintage red. Thanks for pics, looks amazing! Enjoy it! Here are the pics. PM me if you need help about posting them. ;)
