You can, but the point is that swatch will replace the battery for free in store for the life of the watch. No charge, that’s the point I’m making. It’s actually quite easy to do yourself but why buy a new battery when swatch offer it for free!

It has a density and a feel to it that is solid. The strap is way better too. It had an ETA inside, albeit quartz. And the finish of the hands is incomparable
I would say it’s a Swatch with a +50% premium for the Omega Speedmaster branding collaboration

Like tiresmoke said. Overall not bad for a rep but off compared to gen. I would say this is something similar to the w77 reps nsome weird bolding on some characters on the strap seen at "w,a" in moonswatch and the "a" in omega. Moon phase doesn't seem to move at all unlike some videos some vendors posted (moves like the 24h).

I saw a video of a rep with a 24hr moon phase and lumed snoopy. For mine. Hour markers and hands are lumed but not the moonphase. Don't have a UV light so not sure about UV but doubt it.
I was pretty sure the moon phase would be 24H. No way they would invest to modify the pe50.

If you got the same one as I did, and I'm 99.999999% sure you did since it's the same vendor and the photos are identical, there is no UV writing. I was also sure that it was going to be a 24 hr movement for the moon phase subdial as well, so it would AT LEAST move; but it's stationary. The printing of the Snoopy subdial is really pixelated so I guess it doesn't matter too much either way.
Like Karbon said, the gen watch -- while not objectively "worth" $300 -- is far from the cheap throwaway hunk of garbage that the haters make it out to be. However, to me, it's not the cost of production or materials for ANY Swatch that does it. It's the fact that I turned 50 a few months ago so I'm a child of the 70s / 80s. The Swatch reminds me of a time when I was a carefree kid wishing I could have one of these cool transparent jelly watches (but I grew up poor as dirt, so I was lucky that my parents got me the Casio that they did). Watches meant something back then because you actually needed one to tell what time it was, and Swatch was about as cool as it got. When I wear a Moonswatch, overpriced or not, it makes me happy. It's fun. The fact that (1) my grail watch is an Omega Snoopy, (2) I've been obsessed with space exploration since I was a kid, and (3) Snoopy is one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time... it all comes together to make $300 kind of a bargain for the enjoyment I get out of it. Once we start talk about buying watches based on logic, this whole hobby falls apart fast. They are outdated, damn near useless pieces of jewelry in almost all cases in 2024.
We, as the rep-loving community often get a warped sense of the laws of economics. Things are "worth" what they sell for. Swatch, Rolex, Omega, Mercedes, Tiffany, LV, etc. are under no obligation to follow a cost-plus pricing model just to make us feel better about things. Considering my local boutique still has shortages of certain models two years later should be proof enough that, if anything, they are underpriced based on supply and demand. Hell, the markup on a bottle of Pepsi is probably multiples more egregious than a Moonswatch. Either you are pro-capitalism or you're pro-socialism... you can't flip flop based on what happens to be convenient at the moment. The beauty of it is that if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. If enough people agree, the company goes out of business; and the pricing is a self-correcting problem.
My 6th grader son wore the Snoopy rep to school today. He said someone randomly came up to him, pointed at it, and said "FAKE" and walked away. Kids are such total dicks. I'm tempted to let him wear my gen Breitling Premier Duograph rattrapante tomorrow, but he'd probably trade it for some Pokemon cards.

Silver snoopy is my grail as well! Still gonna hunt a gen snoopy but more passively based on convenience but in the meantime...

i had ordered 2 white. (One of them was 1€ cheaper than the other) and one black Snoopy
The cases are slightly better than the usual reps. The strap print is not great. But all of this does not matter.
I got the UV activated « I can’t sleep without a night light »
The cheaper one has a blotched up print but it still lights up. The other one has clear and well printed UV font.
And even the black one has it, but the text is printed in two parts, not as gen
White rep
It is super hard to take a pic as the UV does not come through, so I tried my best.

Also, the subdial Snoopy backdrop has little lume stars. Not white buy a very pale blue.

the UV font on the black is actually correct in its two way parts
now, again, the print is smudgy. But really, I did not expect that.
At this price, I can only recommend to buy both white and black.
