(Stupid touchscreen) ... to continue, he disappeared with parts and money from a lot of ppl. I was one of the lucky few from early on for whom he did amazing work for..... he was renowned for putting together full gen 3714s.
Oh yes I heard, texski i think?

Some shitty snaps with my samsung phone.....

TG1.jpg

This started out as a Concepta V1 with gen movement, Taka crystal and ETA day/datewheel. Then it went to another guy, and I had gen dial, hands, pushers, crown and tube and day/datewheel installed. As far as the watch goes, rep parts remaining are the case and the crystal (although Taka's crystal is gen-like enough for me).

Also, bought a set of "gen" strap and buckle off a guy from TZ (but I have my doubts on this one....).

Details of the dial (you can just make out the concentric circles on the 12 and 6 o'clock subdials....hard to capture on camera without the right lighting, but they are more visible to the eyes....)

And finally, the re-coloured logo:

That's about it, really. Visually, tbh, the results of going franken isn't that impressive....but the knowledge that it is substantially gen is priceless

very nice franken bro! the time, $ spent and effort to make it as genlike is priceless indeed.

Oh yes I heard, texski i think?

yup texski ran away with alot of gen parts, watches and $ from the community. concepta still trying to refund the victims involved, hopefully it gets sorted out soon.

@Asheron - thanks. Loving it.... but, i always seem to end up wearing others... a bit of a waste in that regard, it has become a safe queen.... sigh

And i doubt i can sell it without incurring substantial loss.

hmm well for whats it worth, you could post up a sales thread with approval from the mods since its gonna be a high valued one and gauge the community's interest?

do include as much information as possible such as photos of ya gen movt etc, documenting properly the watch will give more confidence to potential buyers on what they will be getting and you could also explicitly state that its not going to be a quick sale and if no bids match near your asking, then you can just withdrawn it from sale.

at the end of the day, if you don't try, you won't know either and i'm sure someone will be more then interested in your franken TG.

Yea in terms of outlook and the movement, the superclone is up there with the big boys. It's a really good buy. The only difference is the non decorated movement but seriously how many of us actually open up a watch daily?

Btw imo just try not to get green if there is any cos the proprietry green crystal is rather impossible [at the moment.. who knows abt future? :)] for our chinese counterparts to replicate to near 1:1 standard so its a rather dead giveaway imo if u are speaking abt the comparison.

Since that we are at singapore here, just wondering, anyone here can recommend a watch shop which can do a full maintenance for the watch? Because i was thinking of getting one rep then straight get a full service before using it.

Actually I wouldn't recommend a service right away, might as well enjoy the watch first.
