hi to all Singaporeans and Malaysian.....

I'm basically grew up in Ipoh, but now I'd planted my roots in Penang and very soon KL/Singapore. I joined this wonderful forum few months back but wasn't active until these few weeks - reason is i was told by a fellow rep collector friend of mine that Mr Noob has produced 2 of my favorite watches and that is PAM 243 M V2 and JLC NSD. 2 of these beauty that i'm willing to trade my kidney for the gen but since there's a rep (a really really good rep) for it...i think i'll just keep my kidney for future usage.

Next week will be my 1st time buying a REP online and delivering it MALAYSIA. my question to all of the Sifu here is, has anyone of you(malaysian) faces problems with EMS or Post Malaysia?? because i heard a lot of story with our DEARLY BELOVED post malaysian are nothing but thieves....and if you were to purchased something from the internet, the advise that i got from all my friends are - please use Fedex or DHL..is that true?

Hi bentoboi. Good to see you here. Well if you read my post in the past pages you will get the answer. I live in East Malaysia and it'll take a few days to reach from China-KLIA- then to my place.

Based on my experience, our packages sent via EMS will be handled and delivered by PosLaju. And they are super efficient. I only get delays on the China side but when it reached Malaysia, PosLaju immediately took care of it. It cleared customs easily without the need of them opening up your packages. So I guess Malaysia is relatively safe for delivering your watches compared to places like Philippines where their customs basically open your package in front of you and tax you with an enormous amount.

Unless you are very very very very and I mean very unlucky. Maybe something bad will happen to it. Just remember, don't accept the delivery if you suspect that the item has been tampered or replaced or If you see the package has signs of being opened or if you feel it is too light.

But also. Try to limit your purchases from 1-2 watches. As you know. Too many watches might attract unwanted attention from our Dear Kastam Diraja. Hahaha.

@bentoboi - never had problrms with EMS in KL. But as 888 said, best to keep your orders small so that your package isnt too big and attract attention.

Hmm, I've never tried buying one which came together with the box. Maybe you can be the first to try? And let us know? Hahaha. Lead by example!

Btw, which TD are you using? I've tried buying from Trevor and Toro. All went smoothly. Wanted to try MarvelousReplica last time but they told me they wouldn't ship to Malaysia. Just for your info lah.

888, i'm gonna try PT or 7750 depending on who still has the PAM i need. i will post a review after the transaction.
In-fact, this is also my 1st time buying an EXPENSIVE rep....all along i thought if one were to look for REP or fakes (i usually end up buying very very low end reps - lack of experience), one must either go to Batu Ferringhi (Penang) or Petaling St (KL)...and that usually cost less that USD200...my worst encounter was in Bt Ferringhi where i was trick in to buying a good rep (Omega PO) for MYR350..after worn it for less than a week, i only realize the lume SUCKS, the crown screw got rusty and the bezel became SUPER LOOooSSSSEEEE...

That's great! Will be waiting for your review and photos! Looking forward to it. Well yeah! Majority of us in the forums were victims of low grade reps which we mistaken for high end "Swiss" replicas. Lol! But with this forum and all the abundant information available here. I'm sure many members will not make the same mistake anymore. Protecting your wallet and also gaining more knowledge.

Honestly, I've never bought any reps from Petaling Street night markets. Maybe I have never had the chance to go there alone and look for it. The first rep that I bought was from Lelong.my and it was a very lousy LV Sub. Lol. Learnt my lesson though, RM150 gone. Haha.

Got my PAM111 last month and it was also my first time buying such an expensive rep as well. But yeah, you pay for the quality though.

Hey guys, currently living in the Philippines... Ordered my first rep from Trevor, and it is currently in customs in queue to get cleared... Anyone have previous experiences with customs in Manila? Fyi package landed in Manila on the 18th and was handed over to customs on the same day... How long before it is cleared? Thanks!

Hi Knightsage, I'm currently based in the Philippines as well. So far I have never bought a watch to be sent here as I've heard too much of dreadful stories regarding the Filipino customs here.

Based on the experiences of local Filipino members from the other Rep forum, they mentioned that only a few of them has received their watches in their house which was sent to their doorstep.

Majority of them had to either go to the EMS Center in Pasay to collect their package. Try calling the EMS Center and inquiring about your package.

I've heard that you would need to follow the customs officer into a customs room and there they will tax you "accordingly". The so called "Tax" rates ranges from PHP1k-2k or sometimes higher. You'd have no idea on how they will come to that amount. Bunch of greedy bastards!

So my advice to you is to give them a call and inquire about it first.

Thanks so much for the reply! Yeah unfortunately customs in the Philippines seems to be very corrupt. I will give them a call early this week to try and see what the next steps are. I'm just hoping the tax is not too much. Trevor did mention he packed the watch inside a toy radio... So I guess there is some chance they don't tax it.

Thanks again!

nice hoot bro! wear it in good health! the new 111N is really really a cut above the rest and very scaringly gen-like too.

welcome bro to our local thread, i'm based in SG so cant input much on the shipping to MY but bro P888 already gave a good 1st hand account of his deliveries and i don't think it would be of much issue too.

the JLC Diver is a very good rep from noobfactory, however the bezel's triangle isn't very well done so is quite a turn off for me, not sure if the latest releases they have managed to perfect it though?

the PAM243 v2 from noob is really really an awesome watch OTB already, however i went the extra mile to have it modded by VAC with things like relume, pearl redone, polished cp, 10atm, movt serviced and now its a killer watch which cannot be distinguished between it and a gen unless you put it side by side with minor flaws.

DHL and FedEX is very costly although very fast but EMS from CN is good enough so don't need to worry to much.

one word of advice though for anyone locally in SG intending to ship their watches overseas to other buyers/modders. best is to send by Registered Mail instead of EMS, although RM is slower, it is less under scrutiny by Singpost as compared to EMS and lower tendencies of getting stolen during transhipment.

sent a package via EMS once which took more than a month of posting to Germany as there were alot of problems with Customs etc, however since mailing watches out via Registered Mail with no problems.

just my 2 reps worth...

i bought my 1st rep at MBK in BKK which was a TagHeuer grand carrera and another cheap entry PAM112 in Phuket, however the crystal was damaged while wearing it which spurred me to search for a replacement, Lo and Behold, i found RWI and like they say, the rest is history.

anyway after buying almost 20 odd reps from TDs and geeks alike throughout my rep days, i think the best are still the modded ones and if possible go towards the franken route if ammo permits and you won't regret it.

wear all your awesome watches in good health peeps!

Well mine was the 2nd/3rd batch back then, so there were some flaws yet to be fixed but would assume is fixed now in the current releases from noobfactory. However still, nothing beats a proper Lume job as compared to factory stock superlume.

You can refer to my PAM243L thread here for more pics.

awesome post on your pam Asheron82... enough said, i've just made payment for pam 243 m from tony (asian7750), hopefully the sifussss over here can help out when i receive the QC pictures. for the past few weeks been browsing and browsing on pam non-stop (until my wife cannot tahan me), just to make sure i wont end up buying another low end rep or FAKE watch..i even took the trouble to order the 2012 Panerai Catalogue online, but once i got it i found out that Pam 243 is not featured in this catalogue, only pam 024 and 025..

i still can't believe that i just spend almost RM 1 f**king k for a rep.

Well bro, its a big jump from what you would normally expect to pay for a rep. But I've got to tell you. It's gonna be quite worth it once you see the quality it has straight out from the factory. Maybe another RM1k again for modding, resuming in the future and you're good to go! Haha. I also spent that amount for my 111N. So yeah! It hurts the wallet, but it was a beautiful watch.

I definitely can quote you on that!

Kumusta SEA people?? (hello in Filipino)

yeah I'm from the Philippines, proud pinoy!
But I am not proud of our government, especially the Customs and Bureau of immigration, just this morning some presidential envoy (2 persons) for diplomatic mission for Malaysia got barred from exiting the country despite complete legal papers and were mistaken for persons looking for a job in Malaysia, just because this immigration officers wanted to extort money by harassing and offloading would be tourists and passengers. So you guys when coming to our beautiful country, be careful cause until now these people are still in our very bad airport in Manila, bring with you a camera for evidence purposes.:lies:

Peace to all!!
