Anyone familiar with Malaysian customs? I'm going back soon from overseas, wonder whether Malaysia customs will steal my rep watch parcel?

Bought a number of reps from dealers and members - so far, never had any packages go missing. Think if you dont buy too many and end up with a big package, u are safe

Any experience with custom tax? Is the limit still RM500 tax free? I heard it's 10% tax after that, but sometimes they might simply charge base on value and courier company used. Is this true?

As far as i am aware, watches are not subject to import tax in Msia, unlike other goods. On the other hand, if they actually open your package and find a rep, i'd be more worried bout other things apart from tax....

Anyway, my packages hv never been opened. They hv always been clearly marked as watches for repair or gift, with some low value....

+1. Watches are tax free in Malaysia.

Hi couleur, a true blue Malaysian here like chisin and others on this thread! Well watches usually don't get taxed but be careful if you're bringing in a load of them as In more that 8 or 10 I suppose. I travel frequently as I'm currently based overseas. So I do carry about 4-5 watches when I go back (these are the pieces I own, don't want to leave them unguarded while im away). But I do Separate them in different luggages and bags. 1-2 for check in and the rest hand carried.

But if you're planning to buy a lot from a dealer. I suggest separating them in different shipments. :)

Use EMS. Should get here within 3 working days after receiving a tracking number. Typically no customs issues here, but I'll still avoid shipping more than 3 pieces in a package.

yes ems delivers to the doorstep..

with the tracking number u will know where ur parcel is, once status is "with delivery courier" u can expect it to be delivered before end of the day unless too many parcels to deliver to too many places and they cannot make it to deliver all.. then worse case will be the next day.
