Love the NSX-R hood/wing
You liking the Evo's Rob? Now that I own a '11 WRX I feel like I have no choice but to consider them some sort've evil nemesis.irates:
I think the "LOL!" is a hint at his lack of seriousness.Seriously?
I instruct for various Porsche Club of America (PCA) regions and one of my students brought a Lambo Diablo SV one weekend and a Carrera GT another.
Would I buy a CGT? No. On the track it was a beast. You really need to be a pro driver to drive that car. My student, Dan, had an awful time with it as there is so much torque down low that on every track out the back end would want to come around as he would get on the gas. I finally made him run the track in 4th gear instead of 3rd and his lap times improved dramatically as he wasn't fighting the traction control and could concentrate on keeping momentum. People forget that it's your average speed around the track that counts, not who gets back on the gas quicker or who's car is faster. That's why when you watch my "following" videos my NSX (290hp) keeps up with a 615 hp CGT or 550 hp Diablo SV. My lines are better AND I am keeping the momentum going. The reason I always take one session to follow my students and video it is so they can see that 1. where they think their car is is not always where it is; 2. they aren't using all of the track, including using the curbing 3. momentum is everything.
Great story. I noticed there were a number of times the guy went off the track. The riding looks pretty close too. What happens when there is a wreck with another car? Is it race at your own risk, or would the guy at fault need to pay?
The best vid was the sound of that CGT. Wow.
That being said, it's high risk even if we try to minimize the risks the best we can - you never know when the car in front of you is going to drop oil or in this case anti-freeze all over the braking zone at the end of the straight. http://youtu.be/HKBgvb5i7wU
Damn. How did you not hit that guy? How fast were you going?
