Guys it is very simple, you cracked the crystal so went back at the Rolex service for crystal replacement and full make over so now you got a new watch with a LEC gen crystal... just like a new TC [emoji51]

I believe a stock TC has a non-LEC crystal. This would make it probably closest to a Y series at least the head anyway. It's impossible to make a TC 100% period correct without replacing the clasp, and/or bracelet and crystal. PJ4 code on the clasp dates to 2008.

Depends how anal you want to be :D

Yes stock crystal has no LEC of course.. I am not anal and happy about it to be honest, I ordered a new gen crystal because I like the clarity of the cyclops but was just saying that a replacement crystal nowadays would be a LEC xtal

Yeah I know what you're saying haha.

My point is there's no point worrying about what's period correct and what isn't as it's virtually impossible to get it 100% right anyway!

What period of sub has no engravings between the lugs [emoji6] .

So a 2008 16610 would have engraved rehaut right? So if you wanted period correct you'd need to change the clasp, have a crystal which matches the clasp and lug engravings which match the two? At that point you might as well put a yuki with gen hands.

So just buy a gen? Lol

Exactly, it's basically pissing in the wind trying to get everything to match up!

Indeed if you found a 2005 ish dated clasp and a LEC non-AR crystal and had the lugs engraved to match. Or alternatively a 93250 stamped bracelet, 2003-ish dated clasp and non-LEC crystal.

But who wants to waste time doing that? :D

Located a vacuum sealed insert for my V7 Extreme. So, here I go down the rabbit hole. Hopefully the trip will end with a gen LEC crystal.

Would someone mind guiding me on where I might find a gen LEC crystal (new) and what I might expect to pay?

Am I correct in assuming the insert and crystal will go on without too much hassle? Thank you!

I also found a brand new sealed insert like you and now looking for the crystal, a LEC no AR one.

I can say that the insert is really a good upgrade also on the V7.

You can change it by yourself, just be careful with the click spring.

You can find a crystal on TRF or on here.

Both crystal and insert will on the tc with no trouble. Some people change the crystal gasket to get a more correct crystal height, but those specifics are beyond me. You'll have to have a watchsmith do the crystal and I would recommend having him do the insert as well. It's not a great idea to remove the bezel without the proper tools or you could end up bending the bezel .

I've just put a genuine non-LEC crystal on mine to make it Y series! :) and also a gen crown and crystal. All went straight on with no hassle. I think the gen crystal might be a fraction higher than the TC or I might be making that up but either way, could easily be sorted by the next gasket size down or a bit of sanding. I probably won't bother until I go inside it again as it's nothing really!

I'm sorry this is an awful picture but here is my V7 Extreme with gen crystal, crown and insert!

The crystal was cheap, it has a couple of chips. The cyclops is well on the piss here lol but I've got it a lot better now. It is a big upgrade from what was on there before!

But with the deeper teeth on the extreme bezel you are in the D series, or I'm wrong?

Sent from the RWI mobile app

Technically you're right however I'm sure there was some overlap. I'm also wanting to get the lugs drilled if I can so the LEC crystal wouldn't be correct then.

That cyclops is well cock-eyed on that photo, I have realigned it a bit better now!
