This cannot be real?I'm stealing this, happened really, it's too much fun to not share it (note: this is a PM convo, not in response to any sales ad):

them : how about Submariners then ?
me : i have 2 subs , they are both vintage

them : i want to buy vintage sub

them : how much ?

Oh yes, there's a whole breed of those. "I'm interested, give me more info, I'm gonna pay asap, money ready, reserve it for me, 100%" and then they disappear.I've had some over the last few months where they've opened genuine interest, dropped off the planet after telling them all they need to know. Totally normal right? Nothing to see here.
Except when I had one guy ask me why I sold it to someone else after they'd given me radio silence. I mean come off it?

And the worst of them disappear after you give them your payment infos ;-)Oh yes, there's a whole breed of those. "I'm interested, give me more info, I'm gonna pay asap, money ready, reserve it for me, 100%" and then they disappear.
Best gif for the scenarioAnd the worst of them disappear after you give them your payment infos ;-)

Think of RWI as the whole internet. The bits you see - regular members who contribute with knowledge and jolly banter - are like the Google accessible part. Using the sales section is like browsing the dark web with Tor. You’ll find some real headcases down there who are dumb as rocks.Did this ppl really exist?![]()
Love it, although to be fair it sounds kike something I might do.*I approve someone ELSE'S sale*

"Hey I'll take it"

Sad part is you were not the first to do it!Yeah so so sorry for the message but I wanted to make sure I was first in line when you sold the Tudor..
I can confirm that this is par for course selling anything,
The best part is the Tudor went north of the border to me in Canada. I'm enjoying it every time it's on the wrist and as per are agreement you will be the first person I message if I go to sell.Sad part is you were not the first to do it!
Mate, that's a rig, nice gesture, I played a bit of slap bass in the 80’s, but I stick to guitar these days. I actually do OK selling on eBay, and interestingly, everytime someone low balls me, within a week I get my asking price. So there's hoping the goldtop goes this weekend.Absolutely 100% agree, Cars, Boats, Bikes, absolutely anything. I hardly sell at all these days, half the time I either bin stuff or give it away, case in point recently I had 2 different muppets come to view my immaculate vintage Trace Elliot Bass stack rig, both made ludicrous low offers and got told to fuck right off, one muppet even wanted me to "throw" my Yamaha Bass Guitar in
I can't gig with it anymore due to the arthritis.
Then I found out that a young guy who works in Mels shop plays Bass and his old rig was U/S, preventing him from gigging and earning some extra dosh.
I put the Trace in the back of my Car, took it down to his house and gave it to him. Guy was over the moon, I know he appreciated it.
This makes me think of an OT story: My cousin's kid dropped my Martin D-28 1937 heavily on rocky ground so hard the body broke. His mom (my cousin) asks me: how much does it cost? I pay you back. Is €500 enough?I can confirm that this is par for course selling anything, I have a Gibson custom shop guitar for sale on eBay, I get a message ‘what condition is it in?’ I reply ‘mint no signs of wear’ they they come back with ‘whats your best price?’ I reply ‘i turned down £3.5k so you’ll have to do better than than (its up for £3.9k)’ he comes back with ‘i just missed out on one for £3.2k cos it was collection only, so I will offer you the same’ I reply ‘no you won’t.’
Ouch. Hateful eight type event. We are way OT lol. This makes me think of an OT story: My cousin's kid dropped my Martin D-28 1937 heavily on rocky ground so hard the body broke. His mom (my cousin) asks me: how much does it cost? I pay you back. Is €500 enough?
