The sub that I got from Toro passed water test with flying colors. I have a tester and I have the gaskets in case a watch that I get isn't waterproof. My Noob sub which is what I got was fine. I took out the movement and tested the case. I have a 3atm tester even though the tester gauge goes to 6atm. I tested it all the way up and no bubbles. I didn't pay extra but I also didn't have them test the watch there.

Just that's a good thing. The real one you have to hit with a strong light (led) then look at an angle.

I believe it does. Before I saw this in person I had read that the effect is much more present in the gen (like someone can see in those nice official pics of the watch) but in person and inside the shop itself it was not so obvious. I believe that under the sun it would be easier to differentiate but again I would say that in 9/10 will look extremely close and only side by side comparison would tell.
I have even red that some people like the "matte finish" of the rep than the gen's. In general and once again this rep is an amazing piece truly worth having!
Here's another one [emoji4]

As a new member myself I can vouch that this is good advice. All the replica forums give this advice over and over. I have spent the last six weeks reading post after post and I know what I what and what to expect. Buy a modern sub from a TD for $4-500 and you get a really great product. I probably soon will, but I'm picky and I like old Rolex, so I guess I'm saving $4500 for a Phong. I'm also now in a position to realise a Phong case set, a Yuki movement and a bit of watch smithing will save me perhaps $2000 on a complete watch from Phong. All this information is available free right here on this forum, so thanks guys.

edit to say this is specifically in reference to post 124 Dr Verylong.

A 1680 or later yes and I did spring for my birth year 1016 gen. Not a Pan Am GMT though.

anyway the main point is that all the knowledge needed is here.

I don't want to stifle any of your discussion here but please understand this is Toro's sales thread. Keep the commented on topic and PM Toro with your sales questions. Otherwise I'll start moderating these threads and no one wants that.

Thanks in advance!

R2D4, I apologise to Toro and you for perhaps speaking out of turn. I'm still quite new here, but was much newer when I posted on this thread. I'm not sure I knew who Toro was. I was somewhat excited at my first purchase in ten years. I've made a few more purchases now and know what great products there are at all price points, especially when compared with what was available in 2005.
