I know nothnig about vintage, hope u don't mind a question. These "ghost" inserts, are they just the aluminium inserts who faded off, or are vintagized somehow?
Or, it's a different material, bakelite(?) or somethnig even different than that?

They are genuine Rolex inserts, which fade on exposure to sunlight - it takes many years, and the colors are dependant on the paint batch used - some fade to grey, some grey/blue, some go 'ghost' others fade just a little - they're all unique.

What I find quite unsuitable to your 5514 is the caseback and the bracelet.
At the 5514 there were two types of casebacks: The first watches had Rolex COMEX across the caseback and the later watches had a unique issue number with Rolex Come around the caseback. These case engravings come in three sizes; small, medium & large, with the large version being the last & most desirable.
As far as the bracelet is concerned, there was never a GEN Rolex watch with band ref 70216.

All valid points - the case back is not engraved Comex, as it should be, and the bracelet is incorrectly engraved with 70216.
But having said that, I never claimed, or even suggested that the watch was 'gen spec', and I certainly didn't claim that aftermarket parts were genuine parts - unlike you.

In the past it was possible to request a specific bracelet for your watch, ( before Rolex became completely inflexible ) so you may well have seen a rivet on a 5514, if the customer asked for it- or maybe he changed it himself.
What I wrote was purely informative and as a supplement to your beautiful Thread! Do not take it personally, I've never blamed you - in contrast to you.

What a shit you tell here, I have not sold any fake parts as GEN! All parts of my last mod, the owner bought itself and not from me! If you do not know something, then you should not talk and your shitty comment can really keep for yourself!

I don't know, the customer sent it to me, are you sure it's fake ? he spent a lot on it' etc. No, you instead told me I was wrong, that it is genuine Rolex - have you told your customer that he's bought a fake $2200 bracelet ? - because if I was the customer, I sure as hell would want to know.

Yes, I still mean that a GEN Dial is! But this is also my watch and was not, and will never be sold in the future!
When you read everything again, you will see that I have written "Glasp/blades fake is or original can only a specialists say and that I am not!" If you feel yourself as a vintage Rolex specialist and can be 100% sure for Rep and Gen rolex spare parts, then you can tell us that your opinion! Apart from that, the owner of the 1680 is member here in the forum and has read the thread and your opinion!

That's not a genuine Rolex dial, it's a fake, you bought it on Ebay for $60 - I know, because I bought one too, exactly the same, right down to the incorrectly shaped coronet, the trailing S in oyster,the V nick at 3 o'clock, and the poorly applied lume - quite a nice dial for $60 - but it's not a Rolex dial.
A 5513 gilt dial in that sort of condition, even if you could find one, would cost in excess of $5000 - we paid $60 each - do you really think it's genuine Rolex ?
I certainly have not paid $ 60 and if I had, then sure I had not believed that is a GEN!
If you can get a dial like this for $ 60 - Then I like to buy a few pieces!

As I said, dial is not genuine Rolex - it's a fake, whatever you paid for it.
