Gen crystal has got AR on top of the cyclops an on the area under the cyclops. But this is the underside of the crystal not the cyclops itself.
Prof‘s blackhole for the sub is the same. As an option you can order a full AR crystal from prof, too. That means there has been every part of the crystal coated.

AR coating only makes sense at the edges from air to glass and vice versa. AR coating between cyclops and crystal is useless.

Another good alternative is Prof‘s crystal for the SD43. It has got fully coated crystal underside and AR on top of the cyclops. Black hole effect is visible but not so noticeable because you have the additional AR on the complete crystal underside which provides a spectacular dial sight.

True, the white surrounding the Cyclops.
Its not about if you like it or not, but gen crystals just do this so if you wanna be as close as possible to gen, you have no choice.
Prof crystals achieve this a little better but I am still not fully convinced.

Now finally I have been able to compare prof‘s crystal against DSXtal‘s. Here are some pics. At first 3 pics of DSXtal black hole layed on top of the watch. Last 3 pics prof‘s full 2xAR crystal.
BTW price of both is identical.

No question in my mind, the Prof 2xAR looks better. I know it isn't as gen-like but there are enough other tells (dial, insert, etc) that for the same price you might as well get the one that looks the best to you.

Side question - Did the DSXtal have a clean (not sloppy like we saw before) distribution of AR under the crystal? Also, did you have to provide the crystal to DSXtal?

I have to say the comparison might not be 100 percent fair. My DSXtal has only got AR application under the crystal. It has been applied cleanly. You can also get full ARed crystals from DS for the same price, too.
I didn’t provide the crystal. You can order this item completely ready for install from DS.

The prof crystal of course looks spectacular with its full AR.
Both cyclops have got a light blueish tint. Mag is the same.

This prof crystal is my second one. First item had a cyclops which scratched heavily after only a few days. Also mag was not o. k. because the contour was not properly mashined. Prof provided a spare part for shipping costs only. Great and fast support so far.

For now I installed the DSXtal because of the more gen like look. Will keep prof‘s crystal for another project or for spare.

Recently I got Prof crystal that comes with blue tint on cyclops. Requested for replacement and waiting. But I have spend US$60 to change the crystal which mean I have to spend another 60 for this replacement crystal when I receive it
