Hey gang,

I am now for the first time facing a problem which I suppose is not new: the ceramic insert is just a mic too small to be securely attached via press fit alone…

I am working on a VSF 114060 and have purchased a red ceramic bezel insert from Alibaba. When pressing it in by hand, it snaps home (too) easily and can be pulled out with a tiny hook again.

What is the best method to secure it? Since the 114060 bezel assembly includes the bezel support ring, I can’t simply use double sided tape on the underside of the insert.

Option 1: would you use two pieces of double sided tape (the 3M rings) to tape down both bezel support ring and insert?

Option 2: or should I rather use 3-4 dots of 2-K epoxy glue to glue down first the support ring and then the insert?

I am afraid that option 1 would result in the insert sitting too high and protruding over the bezel…

Thanks so much for your guidance!

Damn - I really have one big problem: I cannot be patient... I just executed option 2 and will wait for the results ;) The insert sits perfectly aligned where it needs to be - however, the 2-K glue need 12 hours to fully settle.

Hi all, I have 2 CF GMT2s that I plan to put gen crystals and also swap bezels on. Does anyone know if the CF bezel inserts are pressed in or taped/glued? I’m curious about what I’m going to be getting into and if I should be worried about cracking the ceramic when pressing the new one in or removing the old one. Probably not much of a concern if it’s taped in as long as I resolve the tape first. Thanks a bunch!

Just a quick q for a vsf sub… I assume the crystal retaining ring should be pressed fully down to the watch case like so?

(My hyrtel ring is f**ked so looks like fishing line to the rescue)

My clean Pepsi was attached with adhesive Ring. Soaked in hot water and came off easily.
