Of course, they will remain as thin as the original, or at least very close to the required millimeters. They know that if they don't, they won't succeed in sales.

Previously, I mentioned that I had no evidence but also no doubts about how the curvature of the watch made a world of difference in the way it hugged the wrist. Now the photo proves it.

I'm leaving photos of a genuine one from the side so it can be compared to the last replica.

If the newer "curved" version isn't thicker, and it's all just an illusion because of the back/front plate thickness, then why does the crown on the new one sit mostly within the midcase compared to the gen (and compared to the "flat" V1 rep)?

I guess we won't know until the calipers come out, but I'd be wary to definitively claim there's no difference in thickness between the two versions of the rep posted here.

Gen (crown extends over the front/back plate):

"V2" curved glass rep (crown is within the mid case):

"V1" flat glass rep (crown extends over the front/back plate similar to gen):

You're also most certainly right about that - give or take it looks like half a millimeter top and bottom.

That the front and back are substantially thinner than on V1 is also obvious.

Comparing the gen with the rep might not be the best way but you're completely right to compare it to the first version. Crown height might be an additional factor.

However - let's wait for ZF and first hand experiences haha

Agreed. Thanks for your insights

I threw a measurement tool on the lateral view image. The new version is about a whole back/front plate thicker. It's not just an illusion haha. Usually I wouldn't care too much, but given the fact that the most striking characteristic of this watch is the thin profile and comfortable elastic/velcro band, I hope they can eventually nail the case design and band comfort/sizing so that it actually sits on the wrist properly.

I feel like I need to see measurements before i comment, the first one has a thicker bezel and back plate on it while the second (while may be taller) has a thinner bezel and back on it. So yes it's fatter but I'd assume not by much. Also the red is far more pronounced so is the focus for attention.

Until we get measurements we won't know.

You can measure quite easily with this photo, as I did (and posted about) up above...The actual mm number might not be perfectly accurate because it's tough to scale the image without a reference, but you can clearly measure/compare these two, and the newer one is objectively thicker. It's not an illusion.

Did you consider the watch on the bottom is closer to the camera when measuring?

No; I'm an idiot. I thought the watches were stacked on top of each other. Didn't even notice they weren't haha
