Aha! Now that's the tough question right there. I'm usually honest with folks about my reps though so that's never posed a problem for me. Especially in the case of this watch not being a great rep, honesty would be the best policy here.

anyone know what the case is made from? I talked to a supplier in China and he said it was plastic with sapphire surface. I don't know exactly what that means and asked him again to explain. Anyone know what the case is?

Pretty sure it's acrylic, which is somewhere in between plastic and crystal

Approved, but won't get for a while as I'm waiting on another piece that has delays from factory. Feel free to tear it apart, I am an AP expert, not RM, but it looks great to me.

The case I'm told is mineral crystal with sapphire on the front and back of the case. The mineral crystal is easier to machine than the sapphire on a CNC machine. The original RM 56 took 1,000 hours to do. The only thing that can cut sapphire is a diamond. My guess on the original RM 56 they use diamond carbon bites to design the watch.
On the mineral crystal not so much.

Thanks! I feel the crystal is much better than the forged carbon RM, I think the top and bottom are sapphire and the body is mineral crystal. Great quality, it's light as can be and I think they improved the deployment clasp as well. As [MENTION=1779]chris[/MENTION]007 pointed out originally, the deployment on the forged carbon RM is terrible, this one seems to be much better.
