RWG1 is basically about 20 guys, or less, posting cr@p all day. Some new member asks a question which will usually result in him being called a noob and then the thread will go on for 5 pages with only posts of smilies and 'group 69' suggestions. A complete joke of a forum IMO.

Neither are the "real" one, the original RWG died years ago, RWG2 was an offshoot that started some time before that and RWG1.1 was started by greg_r and myself shortly after the collapse of the original.

I just meant that afaik most of the original membership jumped ship and went to rwg2 as the original rwg fell. I remember the trc also, and was a member on there going back. I was out of the game for a while then when the original rwg died so wasn't sure what happened after I got back into reps.

Thanks for the clarification. It was a bit confusing at the time , coming back and suddenly finding the original rwg with not too many around and rwg2 being where it at was at back then.

Rwg2 gets accused of being a little too 'old fogie' at times but tbh that is the good thing about it, it's a little more sedate at times these days than the other forums but some great knowledge and members over there also.

At the end of the day, it's hard not to use all the fora, ...reps move so fast these days we need them all for the different opinions/reviews and modding info. If a new rep comes out and it's on the short-list I couldn't imagine buying it without reading every detail and opinion on each of the forums before pulling the trigger.

That's kinda outa line craig, and kinda surprising as you are a good member on the fora. I would've thought that all the good knowledge on reps is based on crossmembers of all fora and not just single forum fanboys, so you might be stepping on peoples toes with that outburst. Can't understand that attitude tbh. If you've done your research and don't act like a newb over there then you won't be treated like a newb. That sort of thing happens to a certain extent on all the forums, the trick is read first then post, nothing wrong with that?

hahaha seems my post got taken rather seriously. Don't mean to step on anyone's toes. I guess I am more of the serious type so I really don't find 5 pages of back and forth banter and smilies my style. I can see how it can be more fun but I guess I prefer to come onto the forums and generally talk watches. I suppose my opinion might have been formed due to a few heavily fingered members over there when in fact the majority are nice guys. No offence meant to anyone here.

Pooling info is good. Seems to me (no expert) that each forum has its own spirit about it. Therefore some forums are totally pro some item, others are totally against it. I think with the economy its tough for any one of us to keep buying each new one that comes out. So we get second sometime third hand info, and sometimes thoughts are only based on pics. Looking around and comparing thoughts is great. I've read somethings on here that over on RG would be shot down and visa versa. It allows a person who at least is open minded to see all sides of a thought. OR help to correct a incorrect thought. (like the newborn 57c is flat and no hobnail But it certainly is and its SWEEEEEET

Oh for sure but where else in repdom can you say fu*k or see Mrs sfa437 and her GF without their gear on? Hmmmmm?

They went from 10 to 20k members in the last 12 months or so as well. The fastest growing of any of the fora (RWI is close behind and still bigger mind you).

Lol, I popped over there recently, Hadn't been on in a while, it really does seem to be buzzing over there these days, it's great craic, completely different approach, and superb info on watches. I read some reviews on a few reps I didn't see elsewhere, great stuff!

Greetings - I've been a member for a while

RG, RWI and RWG - for a little over 4 years. VIP @ RG/RWG. For some reason, I lost my link to RWI and have been spending most of my little forum time at RG...

So - though it's unfortunate that RG is down, this is a good time to re-aquaint myself with 'the darkside'.

I also took the opportunity to upgrade to VIP this morning as well. Nice to be back. Thanks
