Rg is down?

Being down so long without news doesnt sounds good.

Guys,some news are in Rwg from onzenuub yesterday....

" The server's owners are moving to a new data center. Construction work in the area severed a cable and time to repair would take months.

Should be back up in a cpl days."

I'm sure it was some kind of emergency server change. Not sure how they could notify us really, I'm sure it will be back up soon.

Normally if something catastrophic happens to a site you have to

1) Find out what happened
2) Decide if you want to switch servers or not
3) Move the entire site / DB to new server
4) Test said server
5) Change DNS records
6) Wait 24 hrs for the domain to resolve to the new server

So I can see why it has taken a few days, but I'm sure it'll be back up soon. Yes I'm itching too, no offense to RWI but I'm a repgeek personally

Thanks man! I joined RWI almost 4 years ago, a few months after I joined Repgeek, but I just don't seem to make it over here that often. I'll have to spend more time here now.

A data center down for months because of a severed cable? :thinking: Someone would be up for 10s of millions in compensation.
